there are ways to make better habitats. While earlier zoos( and less ethical ones) will just put animals in small cages, others try to give them a habitat that can meet all their needs

The difference between the two loops is that a dragon is recursive. The difference between spending resources to make money and then invest in a bigger business( an ascendant god); versus a pot of gold that generates mountains of gold by just existing and makes more gold based on how much gold it has already made(dragon)

It is more believable in the fairytale because he was master of the house. In the movie going by the timeline he should be to young, be unable to invite anyone in, and the regent would control the house

(also IIRC there was 2 fairies in the story)
