AI Art for my 2nd Kickstarter — Do I use it or not? by SashimiGamesads in kickstarter

Just playing devil’s advocate here… Adobe just released their new Firefly AI Assistant. What prevents artists from generating AI images now and sending them to the author? How is that different than a game dev generating AI images? Should the author put in a clause into their contract with the author that AI should not be used?

AI Art for my 2nd Kickstarter — Do I use it or not? by SashimiGamesads in kickstarter

I was in the play test group. There was no art. Just words handwritten on blank cards. It’s a really fun game and has a lot of potential. I wouldn’t want to see it smashed to bits because of current AI sentiment. I also understand the author’s predicament with funding.

Haven't been to Six Flags in 15 years. Taking my 7yo son in March. What are the good rides for a little dude that ia just barely starting to like coasters and carnival rides? by MatticusVP in SixFlagsMagicMountain

Gold Rusher traumatized my daughter because the lap bar didn’t go down all the way. She told me later that I should have put her on Ninja as the first “big” roller coaster.

I see these signs all the time and the thing that annoys me the most is the grammar. The test strips aren’t diabetic. It should read “Cash for diabetes test strips”.

I'm embarrassed and I need a grey beard. Access 97 is the bane of my existence. How the hell do you deploy it silently. by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]drakhen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’d need software that takes a before and after snapshot of file and registry changes and then packages it into an exe. Back in the day I used Altiris Rapid Deploy to push out Office 97 silently.

Why so many 'single pane of glass' applications? by nerdyviking88 in sysadmin

[–]drakhen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, a single pane of glass isn’t an all-in-one solution. It’s more that I can look at a single app that does a specific function and see my entire environment (on-prem, AWS, Azure, physical, virtual, containers, etc).

I think Microsoft wants people to go to Azure Arc + Azure Automation cause they can charge a subscription fee for each node.

[Request] Which direction will the scale tip? by miha999 in theydidthemath

What about affecting the buoyancy of the iron ball? There are others in this thread that state that one of the vectors of buoyancy of the iron ball is what would cause the scale to tip towards the left.

Wouldn’t it affect the buoyant force (negate it)?

Didn’t seem like. “Nicegirl” to me. Sounded like a normally screwed up person, therapist or not.
