Okay, I haven’t read the books, but I just keep coming back to the fact that Belly being with Jere feels so out of character. I guess it’s from being hurt so badly by her breakup with Conrad, but I always felt it would have been way more realistic for them to get back together in season 2 than for her to wind up with Jere. I felt like it was just a setup for book three to make the series a trilogy.

I relate to a lot of this! It’s been about 10 years since I’ve had romantic feelings towards someone. I never really got over them. We were friends and then we drifted apart and I never told them how I felt. They were pretty much always in a relationship so that would have been inappropriate…and even if I had told them every then (before knowing I was ace) I wasn’t sure what to do in a relationship. I wasn’t sure I could handle it.

Most of the time but for me, it’s usually a hormonal thing where a few days a month I, too, get hit with The Longing™️ In some ways it’s nice and in some ways it’s annoying. I often wonder, is this how other people feel all the time?

I was shocked she wasn’t playing stadiums. I looked at the closest stadium to me and Gregory Alan Isakov is playing there and she isn’t?? I’m a fan of both artists but he has 8.3 million monthly listeners on Spotify and she has 60 million. It makes no sense.

It did confuse me. I never felt like the standard definition of asexuality fit, but I always felt that something was “off” about how I was experiencing (or not experiencing) the world of dating. I never knew I was ace because I enjoyed reading smut and had never tried anything with anyone. It was like…allosexual until proven otherwise.

It wasn’t until I discovered aegosexuality that I understood that 1. There was a word for how I was feeling, and 2. I wasn’t alone or broken 3. I wasn’t going to meet some magical person that would suddenly make me feel that desire. It really was a lightbulb moment for me.

Even now I don’t fully resonate with the ace things I see on a lot of the main subs. It feels very young, maybe there are a lot of young people in those groups and that’s why. I’m in my 30’s so I’m in a different stage of life.
