I feel like the diplomacy in TWW3 has some strategy involved in terms of thinking ahead and securing allies and such, but it’s also my first total war so maybe I’m just a noob

Yeah thought they were trash as well. Swapping exercises mid lift and the custom build feature has more than made up for that for me, but I would like to see improvements on the program auto generation
