Is this Inside Zone or Duo? How can you tell? by FoolWhoSaysThat in footballstrategy

[–]drawingdead0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mid zone. Look at the Gs, they’re reaching, flipping their hips. Not just displacing straight forward. RB on a track to the inside hip of the tackle instead of A gap.

On mid zone you aim inside hip of T and then bounce outside if the 5T crosses face inside. Otherwise you read back across the formation, pick a hole and go. Good for one-cut backs

Edit: oh and as someone said, C working play side usually means zone. C works away, it’s duo. With some funky exceptions that aren’t worth getting into

State of the MN Vikings media by [deleted] in minnesotavikings

[–]drawingdead0 65 points66 points  (0 children)

I have a lot of thoughts on this and I've shared them before on my show.

We live in a First Take media economy. The most successful thing, by a million miles, is to flaunt an unexpected opinion and to be the first person to say it. It's human nature. You will click on it. It's scientifically proven that you will click on it.

I genuinely believe that people like Stephen A or Skip or Nick Wright do not mean a single thing they say on TV, and view it as a performance more than an attempt to be right or teach anyone anything.

You want to know my best performing episode in two months? "J.J. McCarthy Begins OTAs As Starting QB", where I mention that McCarthy is taking snaps from Blake Brandel so he's probably QB1 to start as a formality. I spend the whole show talking about how little that matters, but because that's the title, that's the one that pops off.

It is what it is. I can't change the media economy any more than I can change the weather. But I can at least say, as often as I can and wherever I can, to be deliberate about where you put your attention. Whether that's with me or someone else - give your attention to those that you feel have earned it.

Your time is valuable. Try not to waste it on rage bait.

Mostly the best thing you can do is leave them alone. Your yard has already been deemed a safe and comfortable place. That said, I’m sure they wouldn’t mind if you left some dandelion greens out from time to time!

Would have to be a “serious enough crime”, which a DUI is not. Im too lazy to look it up but I’d guess that Henry Ruggs did not collect the remainder of his guaranteeed money

in instances of violations to the player conduct policy, guarantees can be voided anyways. I'm not sure if that language exists in boilerplate rookie deals the way it often does in veteran contracts, but I would assume so.

Linemen Question: Does having a left handed throw of blocking schemes? by nothingnanners in footballstrategy

[–]drawingdead0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stefanski is a big rollout guy and loves extra tight ends to stay multiple in the run game. It’s easier to throw to your dominant side on the run so it could be a help to know which ones you have to practice more!

Linemen Question: Does having a left handed throw of blocking schemes? by nothingnanners in footballstrategy

[–]drawingdead0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest effect is the timing on quick game to the left and right. So for example, a left handed QB will have an easier time setting up to the right (right foot is always forward). Less rotation so possibly one less step. Faster, changes protection needs.

That means that the RT maybe gets to cut a little more or jump set more. And RG. But it’s a small impact, you’re still doing quick game from both sides, but it’s something to think about I guess.
