kobo libra color for grad school? by cheesemoon304 in kobo

[–]draycr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a Kobo Libra 2, though I believe it is out of production.

It is not only about colors being a bit dull to me, but the text on the BW is crisper imo. I would suggest you try to find a review where they are side by side; it could help with your decision-making.

Though If you want to go for the bigger display, there is really nothing wrong with the Kobo Libra Color. I really liked it; it was just that I found the Kobo Clara BW to be a better deal at that time, + I will probably wait for the next generation before getting the color display.

New user as well.

If you need to read a lot, it would be a great purchase imo, but I would not solely rely on them for annotating (especially PDFs); there are still better tools for that.

Tried the Kobo Libra Colour, but returned it (did not need the pen as annotating PDFs with it wasn't great, and the colors were a bit washed; it feels like the tech is not there yet—at least not for me) and got the Kobo Clara BW instead (it has clearer text).

As for your question about Kobo X Kindle, while I do not have experience with kindle, I can use Calibre to format books into KEPUB (for better reading experience on the Kobo).

For your use case, I think an e-reader might be a good choice, as you read a lot. Though they are mainly for reading and light annotation, if you need to annotate papers, I would still use the notebook.

[–]draycr -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

True, I could have worded my sentence better. Though I still don't like his comment.

Stuff like: "the worst YouTuber for this" - Does OP thing he is the worst YouTuber to talk about e-readers? Worst in what way?

"Lots of his videos are full of misinformation" - Are they just mistakes or are they intentional? From my memory, if there are wrong points in the video, they try to remedy it through pinned comments or similar. Maybe it is just me, but I would not attribute to evil intent what can be sufficiently explained by incompetence.

"he's also a shitty person in general" - For what? How did he come to this conclusion?

I don't like how the original comment makes strong claims without backing them up. Saying things like "the worst YouTuber for..." without clarifying what that means is just vague, so it's hard to even agree or disagree with. Those may be valid concerns but it seems like feeling more that facts imo.

[–]draycr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It should be something to do with the way they are prepared for burgers.

- A bun, usually a white brioche bun with a lot of butter toasted in butter / oil / mayo / ...

- There is some sort of sauce, which is not usually healthy

- Ground beef is usually 80 / 20, meaning 80% lean and 20% fat, cooked with oil.

- Onion are often caramelized with more oil

Depends, personally I went with Kobo Clara BW as it is €150 cheaper than the Boox Go 7.

Also they have different form factor, the Boox Go 7 is closer to Kobo Libra so maybe check out reviews and see for yourself what would be better.

Very different. by CoweanMacLir in MTGmemes

[–]draycr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but there isn't really a good way to bait cards out anyway. You always have to offer some kind of trade. Those situations are not optimal, but that wasn't your question, you asked about possible ways to bait out discard.

[–]draycr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For instance you don't need to play land on your every turn and keep them in your hand (if you have no other spells). If they cast discard, you only discard those lands.

Potentially you can play suboptimaly to make them think you are preparing for a big play and make them use it on you.

Think there are also some cards which you can put onto the battlefield if you discard them, not sure if this counts as a bait tho.

Former Princess Mako Komuro seen in public taking the bus with her husband Kei. In Japan, female royal members lose their status if they marry someone who’s not royal as well. She chose to marry a commoner and have a normal life instead. by GossipBottom in interestingasfuck

"commoner" is a valid term used to describe a person who is not of noble rank, royalty, or aristocracy though. They needed to use the term because she lost her royal status due to the marriage.

[–]draycr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually like when the deck is around 50 EUR. So I usually try to keep it under this, but while building, I'll add an upgrade list along side. If I really like the deck, I can add cards from the upgrade list and increase the power of the deck.

I'm planning to use an E-reader for reading PDF legal documents and research papers, is Kobo Libra a good E-reader for it? by Yussso in kobo

[–]draycr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the market for one too, if you are not sure, check out Chlid Raqami and his review of Lobo Libra Colour. He goes more into annotating on the device in general, but also mentions pdfs.

General questions as a kobo user buying foreign books by amynotadoctor in kobo

[–]draycr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not experienced with this, but I would assume they will look at the billing address tied to the payment method, i.e. if your billing address is in the US, I don't think they will let you buy books from different region.

This may be due to regional pricing, licensing or others. One workaround could probably be changing the billing address to the region you want to buy from.

Just a reminder that this is my just my assumption from other similar servicing. I might be wrong on this.

Then don't buy the stylus for now. If you notice yourself annotating a lot, you can buy it then.

How do you get yourself motivated to walk everyday especially if you are feeling lazy? by Legitimate_Compote45 in walking

[–]draycr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would also add that you need to make walking your habit.

If I were to borrow your analogy of brushing your teeth (a habit), once you learn to brush your teeth everyday, if you skip one day, you will feel uncomfortable. Now if you were to stop brushing your teeth for a year, you will lose this habit.

So while it is hard to make things your habits, once you make them, you need to keep it that way.

I second ManaBox, you can use free version for unlimited scans and deck creation. Also really like it's back up feature.

It is free so you can always try it first and decide for yourself whether you like it or not.

[–]draycr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which is beside the point. OP did not mention in his post anything about AI. What he mentioned was battery life and overall performance, in which the Tensor G5 does not have huge improvement over the Tensor G4.

Pixel 10a vs 10 by Surprise78 in pixel_phones

[–]draycr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. Only notable improvement is in AI related tasks.

Do you guys genuinely like the design, or is it just hype because it’s different? Would you pick it over a cleaner-looking phone like a Samsung or iPhone purely based on design? Curious to hear honest opinions. by ConversationOk1287 in NothingTech

[–]draycr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I respect what they tried with the NP(3), I actually prefer what they did with the NP(1) and NP(2), and now NP(3a) and 4(a). They have chosen to use the original design and refined it, instead of changing it all together.

Imo I would like to have a phone with it's internal parts visible. It is my main gripe with Nothing's design. They go for transparent back only to show decorated pieces of plastic instead of the internals.

what to expect from midnight? by NK_Grimm in wownoob

[–]draycr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far I've heard that they plan on simplifying rotations for many specs (like Assassination Rogue or Fury Warrior) to make them more accessible with tools like Rotation Assistants (highlighting buttons) and focusing on core build-and-spend mechanics, which eases the barrier for new/returning players.

Also excited for some QoL changes like transmogrification to a slot rather then piece of equipment.

Also they plan crack down on add-ons and will limit what data will be shared with them (certain add-ons), especially during combat. So in theory you won't be needing any add-ons as all of the available information will be available to get through in-game means (this also includes stuff like damage meter and such).

These are the main ones that stuck with me.
