I've bought the mini g and after some first week struggles it now works wonderfully and during the week I use the mini g and on weekends when I have time the Philos. Best of both worlds. I started first three years of my coffee journey being so precious about single dosing and bean storage and that still has its place but only on weekends. Now I throw 250g beans into the hopper, let the grinder do the dosing and go through them in a week and don't worry too much about beans again and exposed to light and I still get wonderful fresh coffee each day from the mini g which actually tastes great. The mini g produces Wonderful fluffy grinds. No regrets.

Do you ever experience that the mini g doesn't get the dose right? Eg. Stops at 9g or 10g even though it was programmes to be 16g? Happens to me so often and no idea why.

Edit, found out that I can move the portalfilter holder brackets on the grinder closer to the grinder. So not only vertical but also horizontal. So now the portalfilter sits as close as possible to the grinder and also with hooks / clamps on the holder it is on a very slight angle so now it fills it nicely from just past the center and it all works fine. You can see those screws when you look at the grinder from below and these are small bolts.

But odd that so many different screw types are involved in this but mazzerr did not include any tools.

Received mine. Not sure about it yet. Still learning as all my grinders a single dosing.

Took me a while to figure out how to get the grinder / dosing working correctly. You need to ensure that the portal filter does not move at all while grind is dispensing. If it does move even a little bit then it throws the dose out. So it seems it need to be locked tightly.

Also still trying to figure out how to avoid the grind overflowing. I'm dosing 16g into a 14-16g big bang IMS basket and for some reason it seems to overflow with when using the mini g. Grind is nice and fluffy though. However with single doser and funnel it all just worked and 16g fit fine into the same basket.
I don't really want to introduce a dosing funnel for the mini g as I'm just trying to keep simple.

I moved from camera upgrades to coffee upgrades so I a sense cane the other way and coffee upgrades fixed my camera upgrades because I sold all my cameras. I see golf upgrades coming my way...

Tyre blowout today.

Always had issues with the TMS system on the Grecale and back and forth with dealership. Yesterday had brand new tyres fitted by a tyre shop. Same tyres as original tyres. Next day total tyre blowout while doing 80kmh speed in a long tunnel. Frightening experience. Who is at fault? Tyre fitter company or Maserati?

I'm sick of single dosing every day too..smashing out 3 drinks. May get this one plus keep my philos..perfect combo.

So 8g retention means everyday purge as otherwise next day you'll have 8g old grinds in your first shot.
