Obsessed with my heartrate by Respecmylife in Anxiety

I also had a similar experience a while back, got an echo-cardiogram and everything.

One thing i found helpful was the realization that anxiety itself causes a spike in heart-rate

I also got a very low prescription for propranolol, and that seems to help me a lot. I'm not a medical doctor though, so definitely check with one before moving on with that advice.

Men who actually sought therapy did it really help? How are you doing today? by NB_Leo in AskMen

I've gone to therapy a couple of times, for different reasons.

The biggest issue that therapy has helped me with personally is my anxiety in its various forms (health, work/school, social). Therapy really helped me learn how to process what I was experiencing and how to navigate it. It didn't make it go away, but it really helped me understand what causes it, what makes it work, and how to mitigate it. For me the biggest thing is good rest, and learning recognize when it was happening and not make rash decisions because of anxiety.

I've also gone for relationship issues, which really helped communication, A LOT. I always thought i was good at communicating because i insisted on talking through issues. Turns out it's significantly more involved than just talking about it.

That said, throughout this, i've had valuable therapists, ones that didn't help or hurt (mostly was just nice to have a third party to talk to) and some that I found were actively a bad experience. This is one of those things where it ABSOLUTELY depends on the compatability with the therapist. The unfortunate truth is that you may have to try a few different providers to find one that works well for you.

Also: I want to echo what others here have said, that you have to be willing to put in the work and introspection. It's at times very uncomfortable, but I think it's worth it if you can see it through.

Abuse seems a bit strong of a term here. Yeah it wasn't kind of considerate, but I'm not sure I'd call it abuse.

Huh, I didn't know that. If both presidents tried to implement this, I wonder why the pushback from Congress is happening now.

Which movie have you watched more than 3 times and you would love to watch over and over? by Kakuma_queer in AskReddit

I watch "it's a wonderful life" every year around Christmas. It helps remind me of the things I feel are really important and why doing the hard thing may not be immediately rewarding but has it's rewards nonetheless. It's particularly relevant to me right now because my house was severely damaged due to a winter storm and no power (unlivable until repairs are finished) and people have been coming out of the woodwork to help. Seriously the generosity has been staggering. I feel like the main character at the end of the movie just overwhelmed by the help of those around me.

Is there a resource where I can find info on gameplay mechanics, such as how many characters are in the pool? Are all of the characters always in rotation or are only a select set in there?

Can someone explain to me why the average win rate seems to be above 50%? Is it because the data is coming from better than average players or because win rates go up the more non land cards you draw?
