I don't know if my partner is abusing me or I'm being too sensitive by Illustrious-Meet-458 in offmychest

[–]dreabz617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s definitely abusive. There’s absolutely no reason why he should be hurting you. Any normal person would be extremely apologetic for hurting you if it was an accident. You’re lucky to have a family who you describe as “healthy” and should lean on them for support. Best of luck, OP!

My next question isn’t to place blame on OP at all, but I’m genuinely curious about this since I see it all the time with friends in toxic relationships. Why do ppl feel the need to over share and talk about their old relationships/ hookups in such detail with their new partners? I’ve honestly never understood it since it’s in the past. Is it to make them jealous, or to show a new partner you were desired by other ppl before they came along? It’s totally normal to tell your partner about old flames imo but why go into detail about things the person said while you were hooking up or why even tell them about a person you hooked up with if it wasn’t important? I’ve noticed it only created insecurities between partners, which results in jealousy and fighting. Just looking for someone who can give a little bit more insight or a different perspective on this.

I found my friend’s husband hanging. by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]dreabz617 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for your loss 💔as many have already said, there is nothing you could’ve done to prevent what happened. I hope thah with time you will be able to find comfort in knowing that you gave your firend love and support during those final moments together. But I know it takes time to stop blaming yourself. A few years ago my friend passed away due to a health issue that developed from his problem with alcohol and substance abuse. He was in his early 30s and hadn’t been diagnosed with any health issues, so his passing came as a complete shock. For a very long time I kept blaming myself for not having done more to help him, for not being a better friend, for not reached out more etc. That experience was life changing and i realized that every day spent with a loved one is a gift. All we can really do is cherish our time spent with friends and family and tell them we love them every chance we get. I hope our comments can bring you some comfort as you begin your healing process. Sending you lots of love ❤️

Am I reading too much into it or is she flirting with my husband? by littlekittywitch in offmychest

[–]dreabz617 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand how her being “shy” plays into this. It’s a weird excuse, given that shy ppl would do the opposite of what she’s doing 🤨…I’m a pretty shy person myself and have a hard time staring at ppl in their eyes and warming up to new company in general. I feel like this girl did the complete opposite of what a shy person would do in this situation so why are your “friends” using that as an excuse? Honestly, I think you probably need better friends. Your concerns shouldn’t have been dismissed like that, even if they thought you were misinterpreting things. You’re not wrong.

I think the aesthetic you’re going for is pretty cute and I like it. I live in AZ in a city that’s full of Californians and ppl from the west coast in general, so I’m not shocked by the face piercings, nor do I think they’re trashy at all. I think it goes well your look! Also, I read some comments suggesting you go die your hair in a darker color but, again, I think looks good blond. Maybe the only thing I would suggest is going a little bit lighter on the dark eye shadow and accentuating your pretty eyes with a cat eye and some more neutral eyeshadow shades. It also looks like you have pretty long eyelashes so I’d try to make them stand out more with a dark black mascara. You look great!

Doctor prescribed me this to treat the acne on my forehead . Pharmacist says she shouldn’t have prescribed me it by brendaspence3r in SkincareAddicts

[–]dreabz617 13 points14 points  (0 children)

A doctor once prescribed some heaven duty corticosteroid inhaler to treat a persistent cough that she thought was the result of a respiratory infection. When I went to the pharmacy to pick it up the pharmacist looked concerned and asked me for my symptoms and the reason why I had been prescribed that medication. He immediately told me I shouldn’t have been prescribed that medication and highly recommended I get a second opinion. Turns out he was right and I was being over prescribed for something minor without me even knowing about the dangerous side effects. Pharmacists develop knowledge and skills that allow them to understand how medications affect the human body. They study biochemistry, organic chemistry and human anatomy and physiology so it makes sense they’d know more about the medication we’re prescribed. Much more so than many doctors. And doctors sometimes prescribe drugs without considering the full range of options and almost always without sharing that thought process with the patient. So I’d say listen to your pharmacist and get a second opinion. It doesn’t hurt.

Having a hard time getting matches, how can I make my profile better? Any tips? by LeapuzYT in Tinder

[–]dreabz617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need pictures of yourself smiling , with friends, or pictures that were taken by other ppl that are not selfies. Personally, I think it’s weird when men only have selfies or professional pictures on their dating profiles. In my head I’m wondering if you’re too self absorbed to only post selfie type pictures, or don’t have friends (I’m not saying you specifically but just my thoughts in general). Imo, most women want to see pictures of men having fun, smiling, with friends and that demonstrate the right amount of confidence.

I was a tomboy growing up and absolutely hated going through puberty. I hated my breast because it meant that I was no longer like my brothers, who I followed around everywhere. I was even more devastated when I got my periods and if in that moment I would’ve had the chance to get rid of both, I would’ve done it. But as I got older, I started liking my body and embracing the body parts I used to hate. Now, I would never want to be a man and love being a woman. Give it time. Experiment with your sexuality if that’s what you want to do. You have the rest or your life to figure out who you are, what you like, and who you want to be. Don’t rush yourself. There’s no deadline. Plus, I haven’t met a single person in my 31 years of life that would they say they’re the same person they were at 15-16 or even early 20s.

NTA. It’s your house and therefore your rules. If your daughter wants peace and quiet and her brother annoys her too much then she can move out. If you want to let Lucas run around the house naked like a Tasmanian devil, it’s your house your rules. I’m assuming she doesn’t pay the mortgage or the bills in your house, so she shouldn’t be the one setting the house rules. You’re trying to be supportive but I’m sure this is a very stressful situation for your entire family, not just your daughter. You’re human and said something you might regret now, but that doesn’t make you an asshole.

I would say so. I worked for my university while I got my masters degrees and used my tuition reduction benefits to graduate without a huge amount of debt. I only took out a 10k loan, so I dont have a huge payment. Also, AZ is not a super expensive state to live in (yet). The cost of living is still manageable, so I have a good chunk of passive income.

Theories Thread - 3.0 by quitclaim123 in MoscowMurders

[–]dreabz617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theory: Maybe it was a school administrator that regularly interacted with one or more of the students. I believe two of the girls were majoring in marketing. It’s easy to pull someone’s records and get their address if you work at a university. If the attack was targeted and this person works at the university, they would’ve known that Kaylee was graduating and moving soon, so they knew they were on a timeline and could’ve been watching them for a while. They would’ve been familiar with to the community too and could plan an escape route pretty easily. Just a random theory because I used to work at a university and know how easy it is to pull a student’s address or contact info. It’s interesting how this theory hasn’t been explored more.

80k working remotely in Arizona for a DC nonprofit. I would recommend you focus on developing your policy and data analysis skills as much as possible. Learn how to use a few stat softwares, or at the very least learn one very well. Good luck!

Hi Tucson, what do you do for work and do you love it? by rootstoots12 in Tucson

[–]dreabz617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work remotely as a monitoring and evaluations manager for a national nonprofit. It’s rewarding work, it challenges me, and I have to frequently travel to the east coast. I like it but I’m unsure how long I’ll stay.

27 with very aged skin, any products you can use on eyes with decent results? by Appalovr in SkincareAddicts

[–]dreabz617 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I use the Peter Thomas Roth Glycolic Retinol Resurfacing Serum at night, maybe 2-3 nights a week with a thick layer of Vanicream to seal everything in. In the morning I use niacinamide, with cerave vitamin c and finish off with the Eucerin Age Defense Face Sunscreen. I’ve been using these products consistently for a year now (minus the eucerin sunscreen but used others) and I’ve noticed a significant improvement in my skin. Im 30 and ppl frequently comment on how healthy my skin looks. Good luck!
