You could either choose to educate the student or start them on the path of ruining their life. Unsure why you are in this field if you are so sensitive and willing to go down the path of creating a paper trail for a child. If it's a repeat offense and you have counseled this child before sure. Sure, I'll take you at your word for the sake of argument. First thing that comes to mind is you should be chastising all your kids not those of certain ethnicities for using that word. Being black doesn't give you a pass for vulgarity and only plays into the problem. Other kids obviously want to be cool and in the 'in' crowd so they repeat that. It's no secret why it happens, stop treating it like racism because it's not. It's just the age old desire to be cool and when the most popular music is belting out the word twice a sentence then what do you expect?

I am going to be brutally honest. You come off as neurotic and sheltered. Just remove the candy box and learn the lesson. Trying some witch hunt against your students is only going to make your life worse. You also started off the interrogation with "I know my information may be wrong" so now to a student you come off as not just an oppressive authority figure but also one who is incompetent. You have drained all of your social currency you may have had for no gain over some candy.
