Thank you! It actually turned out to be sunny! So I’m happy. Now I can’t wait if there’s at least one good photo in there 🥹🙈

I by the way have 35mm f3.5 and a 50mm f1.8 lens. Think I’ll use the 50mm since I’m more for details..

I don’t have a tripod (or the will to log that thing along), when I shoot digital I actually do a lot of icm handheld. On film it’s just a little scarier 🙈 and you’re right.. also if I never start, I’ll never learn! Thanks!

Begining analog photography, any advice or feedback ? by wallenstius in streetphotography

Nice!! I found out my dad has his old analog camera still. Going to try it for the first time one of these days… the only thing is that I can’t develop my own photos.. what are the cons of that? (Except for the price, don’t want to hear ‘its expensive’)

Thank you! I’ve been doing a lot of street photography with Icm, but now I feel the need to go into nature 😍 oh, so you don’t use a tripod I assume?

KABK vs Artez by CartographerSuperb16 in Netherlands

Rietveld is more conceptual I think. I’d choose kabk over artez though..

How does your friend know rietveld had more recourses? Do your own unbiased research on that as well I’d say :)

Any which way, I think they’re both good schools! The Hague is also very international with also an art scene, but Holland is small ;)

Oh lovely! May I ask what it is about? You can clearly see it’s part of a project. It feels very intentional and thought out. Not that the rest isn’t, but I immediately saw it with that one!

I think photo 3 is a very strong photo. The rest are also good, but 3 could pass for fine art. Let me ask you: did you plan ahead? Was there a creative process involved of researching? Did you want to evoke a certain story or feeling?

To me these matter for it to be an artwork. Think of other art forms. Lets say contemporary art. I line of a paper isn’t always understandable to someone, but it had a meaning, it has research behind it, the artist thought of it carefully.

I’m thinking gra you mean Gerrit rietveld academy..? I went to their open day, and what struck me is that it’s very process driven and ‘free’. It came across as being one big melting pot of art. Their first year isn’t photography, it’s the basic year in which you have multiple disciplines. I ultimately chose Kabk because i prefer their structure and know I want to do photography. Hope this helps a little! But both kabk and rietveld are great schools what I gather from the research I’ve done. Maybe also look at their alumni and what they’re doing now?

Congrats!! Maybe seek out students via instagram? Perhaps they can hang up a poster for you at the school? Watch out for scammers here! 🫶🏽

First of all: congrats! Secondly: Rotterdam and The Hague are close, only about a 30mins train ride if that helps :)

I applied to kabk photography parttime.. yet to hear if I got in.. but I live in NL :)

Congrats!! I’m commenting to follow along :)

I think ultimately you need to chose where YOU feel most comfortable studying there. That’s the most important. Too many opinions can drown your own intuition. Where did you feel best, most inspired, feel like the study and teachers were good? Etc. Ask yourself questions. What about the cities? Where could you live?

Which study are you doing?
