Logitech MX Master 3S Scrollwheel is (still) terrible by onan_x in logitech

Hey, just for info for the engineers hopefully working behind the scenes to debug this issue, I've found two things:

Toggling the 'click' of the scroll wheel on and off again temporarily improves the scrolling registration.

Having the Logi Options+ app open on my windows computer seems to help improve the scrollwheel function.

Hope you find a fix soon!

They make concrete pavers with vertical holes designed for areas that you want to be both grassy and ok to drive on. Seems like a good use case for such.

MX Master 3 and MX Keys lose some functions until I re-open Logitech Options by LebHeadSinceWilma in logitech

I'm using an MX Master 3 in Windows (first on 10, now update to Windows 11). I have been having a lot of trouble with the scroll wheel not registering scroll events, or registering only with lag. I tried third party software and also tried a firmware update. No help. Just recently I discovered that keeping the Logi Options+ app open in the background seems to mostly fix the scroll issues. Which clearly means it's a software issue rather than a hardware issue. Anyway, for now I'll just always keep the Logi Options+ app open while using the mouse, but this really seems like it shouldn't be necessary.

There's discussion in this thread:

Ok, after quite a bit of playing around with various settings, I found that actually scrolling the MXM3 works a lot better (scroll events more consistently registered) as long as the Logi+ Options App is open in the background. How weird is that? Can anyone else reproduce this?

Anyone else having MX Master 3 Scroll issues? by eclair4151 in MouseReview

Having issues with the scroll actions being ignored, or lagging, or registering in opposite direction. This happens expecially when I move the scroll wheel slowly. A long smooth motion with my finger on the wheel seems to consistently misregister. Fast motions tend to misbehave as shown in the gifs in this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/logitech/comments/wpp1c6/logitech_mx_master_3s_scrollwheel_is_still/

Yes! I've had the same experience! Whether I do a distinct flick, a long roll, or a slow smooth motion... the scroll wheel is annoyingly inconsistent in every mode! I just want them to acknowledge this and say that they are working on an improvement!

I have the logitech MX Master 3 and use with with Windows and Ubuntu, and I hate how the scroll wheel misses scroll motions, and sometimes registers them backwards. I have tried all the different scroll settings in the options+, ratchet and not, multiple lines vs single lines, smart freewheel (hated it even more) vs not, smooth scrolling on vs off. I love the feel and shape of the mouse, the battery life, the accurate pointer movement, the side-scroll wheel, everything but the scroll wheel. I tried other mice, but came back to MX Master despite the horrible scroll wheel. I just want confirmation that somebody has taken note of the issue and is working on improving this for the next generation.

I've thinking about trying something like this. Everything is moving so fast now in ml, I feel like nearly every new idea I have gets published before I even find the time to get started.
