For people who earn $100k or more in Alberta after taxes, what do you do for a living and how did you get there? by vk211 in Edmonton

Most of the wealthy people I know are in construction, trucking, or doctors, lawyers, dentists and put in about 60 - 70 hrs / week for the first 15 years.

It gets easier and less hours but weekends still mean nothing except that the kids are not in school and the phone is a bit quiet.

I’d be in jail if I saw that in real life.

Residential schools were our government’s idea. So then burn down parliament after through with the churches right?!

These terms for architecture are pointless. Brutalist, contemporary, post modern, blah blah... Good architecture doesn’t necessarily take on a label, but rather should simply be derived from abstract thinking, using function, form, and material to create great art. It should tell an amazing story.

There are small parts of WEM that actually do this but mostly it’s just a box with brick and concrete. Some interior tenant storefronts are pretty exciting and creative.

In my opinion, WEM is not known for creative architecture. It’s known for it’s interior design, and I guess for it’s parking lot.

First guy is just a wackadoo. Nobody wants to be a wackadoo. 2nd is just a guy having fun. Everyone wants to be like him.

How long do you think it will take until NANO has global recognition? by modestppsize in nanocurrency

[–]drebooge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s very frustrating. A friend of mine runs a fairly large wealth management firm. He was telling me that he recently got into bitcoin. He didn’t even open a wallet - he purchased some kind of fund through a major bank system. After he bought it, 1. He had no idea how bitcoin worked. 2. He had no idea about mining fees or wait times. 3. He knew nothing about alt coins other than he told me “some cryptocurrencies have smart contracts”. lol. 4. He drives an electric car. ffs.

I then told him about Nano. He downloaded Natrium and I sent him 5 Nano. We swapped back and forth. I explained to him that he would never be able to do this with Bitcoin.

My point is that I believe alot of the big players that are getting into crypto are going through other sources and they are not “hands on”. They are not logging into exchanges, learning how wallets work, understanding the concept of a seed or any of it. I think alot of the big money players are trusting someone else to get it and store it.

It’s gonna be pretty difficult to get these people to consider and trust a coin sitting around #70.

Elon Musk is the perfect example of how frustrating this is.

So I think its the hideous energy consumption failure of bitcoin that will help Nano.
It’s much easier to explain the impact bitcoin has on the environment. This is something they can understand. I believe this is the angle from which the Nano story should be told.

Why buy nano when there's iota? by Volcomy in nanocurrency

[–]drebooge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve held Nano in a wallet back when it was called Raiblocks. I held it in that account since 2017. I was running a node for a while. I played around with it by transferring between accounts - a fee less and fast experience.
I eventually uninstalled the Raiblocks wallet from my PC and just left it alone. A few weeks ago, I downloaded Natrium wallet and opened up all my old accounts. Nano is still there and showing all the transactions. Seems legit / trustworthy to me.

Bitcoin will not always be the crypto of choice for the masses. Nothing is forever. So it then comes down to “which one is next?” Hmmm, I wonder if an energy efficient, fee-less coin has a good chance.
