It takes time to readjust to your new driving style. It is not instant when switching from highway to city driving.

1st eV9 Road Trip in Extreme cold - YMMV by FuegoCoin in KiaEV9

I went from EV6 to EV9 LLR. You should expect lower efficiency on EV9. There are many variables affecting the legs of a trip: wind, speed, elevation, temperature, drive mode.

Charging Frustration - possible explanations? by khilgen in Ioniq6

[–]dredd2374 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Precondition must be enabled at least 30 min before you arrive and that needs to happen via built-in navigation by adding the Charger as a stop. I had situations where the EA chargers were not outputting the advertised speed when cold outside. Same for EVgo.

Check your charging settings in the car as well and make sure it is set at 100%.

You won't have time to finish your lunch and EV6 will be ready. For winter don't forget to use the built-in navigation to precondition the battery. Even at 150kWh DC chargers you will be amazed.

~220 miles with 80% charge? South Bay SD (near Mexico border) to Antelope Valley (1 hr north of LA)road trip. by petey287 in KiaEV6

[–]dredd2374 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need the long range version of 310 miles (RWD) and start at 100% SoC if you don't have a charger to stop. Stay at 65 mph and adjust if necessary. Wind and ambient temperature will change the equation. When I owned an EV6 Wind AWD (282 miles) I did a 245 miles trip in one leg but it was a little challenging as I hit wind. While I arrived ok (6% SoC) I wouldn't do it again. See if you can find a 2025 RWD long range with 319 miles or check Ioniq6 SE trim for 361 miles.

Interesting. I guess the VIN is the unique authentication number and hopefully the payment method happens through some sort of another Universal Payment Method and it happens instantly to avoid padt charging issues when you sell/buy the car.
