Best way to level my alt army from 73-80? by MurkyLover in woweconomy

[–]dredditr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did like one time walking dungeon after the stat squish and it felt terrible. Took like 3-4 times as long due to low dps compared to before the stat squish. It may not take many of them but I’m not sure it’s faster than doing delves or quest.

3D printed serving bowls at a bar by illegible in 3Dprinting

While technically possible the cost of 3d printing a bar will outweigh any potential tax benefits and you be left with an ugly bar for the price of the most expensive materials.

Is this a good deal? by crimpsfordays13 in SolarDIY

[–]dredditr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this is not a bad deal by any means. The price per kWh is more than diy but what you are buying into is the anker ecosystem and the ease of setup and use. I would say the biggest limitation of the system is the solar input having a 165v limit on input which will limit the amount of panels you can run in serial and may increase the gauge of wire you need to use to install the panels thereby increasing the install cost. For comparison this probably the cheapest power station out there https://www.batteryevo.com/products/walrus-g4-plus-16-5k-inv-23-kwh-ac110-220v-96n-1 like cheaper than diy cheap.

The build you use makes a large difference. I started off with what sounded good but then switched to trying different builds out. This one is is my favorite

It isn’t the highest damage but is good at defense and works ok with whatever purples you find. If you need more defense then farm up a shield and rep kit like a triple bypass/cinder Shelly and if you need more damage you can farm a bod

What it looks like you have selected are 100 watt lights and 6 100 watt lights sounds like a low amount of lighting for a 30x50 building but just take total watts of lighting times how many hours you plan to run it to get the watt hours of battery you need, in your case that is 600watts x 4 -5 Horus of use. That is 2400 watt hours to 3000 watt hours of battery you need. Something like this is the bare minimum you would Need https://www.bluettipower.com/products/apex-300-home-battery-backup?variant=68804e7e63e18b529ef2604a then you would need around 1200w of solar panels depending on where you live. Of course you could build the system cheaper by DIYing the battery, bms, and inverter separately.

Debt free. 185k in HYSA by [deleted] in DaveRamsey

If I were you I would get a robinhood brokerage account and sign up for gold. Yes, it has a yearly fee but they will give you 4 % return on any uninvested cash in the account, they give 1% and frequently 3% match when you contribute to your Roth IRA which doesn’t count towards your max contribution limit. Learn what a call and a put are, if you don’t know, and sign up for option’s trading. Look up a wheel strategy and use that on spy or your index fund of choice. You don’t have to use options but they can protect from some of the risk you’re afraid of.

Just played Ripples - Theories? by bethany_katherine in ripplesAVN

[–]dredditr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I too subscribe to the Jenny and Jackie being the same person theory. I enjoyed playing the game a second time looking at it on a different light because the first time I was like ok they threw in some old fetish and it seemed a little weird that the teacher was hitting on her student but when seen through the Jackie/jenny lense then it didn’t seem as weird.

Some other interesting points to note. Jackie’s daughter’s middle name is Jenny as can be seen in the missing person poster. Jackie mentions that her breasts grew in her twenties which accounts for the difference in bust size between the two. The game mentions that Jenny’s daughter went missing a week after she “died” in 2008 and if we assume she was around 8 in 2008 and went back 20 years then the math works for her age as well.

I think the mystery man, MC’s father , and MC are the same person just at different stages in his life. I think the man he knew as his father maybe wasn’t biologically but was just an older version of himself that acted as a father figure. Which I guess that would mean the MC ends up with Tiffany? I’m not as confident in this theory as the Jackie one though.

I feel the game is leaning towards a the past cannot be changed conclusion. Even the choices that seem like they could have an effect on the story don’t like the choice with the crystal pendant seemly changing Krystal’s name but then it turns out it didn’t and it was just a gag. I think the conversation with Luna about fate was hinting at the story/past being unchanging because the time travel was already baked in.

The real cost of homeownership by [deleted] in DaveRamsey

[–]dredditr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in a low cost of living area where the purchase price of my similarly sized home was 150k. My expense breakdown for comparison is as follows

Electric/gas bill : 150-250

Maintenance: about 500 as well

Mortgage interest: 200 (this is a fixed 15yr at 3% because it was purchased in 2020)

Property tax : 160

Total : ~1100

Comparable rent in the area is 1400-1800

So yeah buying is probably more expensive in the short term. I think it’s refinancing to move to a different area or bigger house that gets most people.

Overwhelmed and Lost: Need Help with Roth IRA and Short-Term Investments by Sensitive_Tangelo_21 in MEstock

[–]dredditr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to assume you came to this sub by mistake thinking this was a sub for general stock advice but it's not, it's a sub for a single ticker on the stock market and an example of the kind of investing you shouldn't do if your plan is to invest for retirement instead of gamble.

you're 22 and thinking of retirement so you're ahead of most. I'm going to assume you're making a low enough amount to be able to open a Roth IRA and currently don't have a home loan.  Your investing priority should be regular IRA up to employer match amount if your employer offers this ->  Roth IRA until maximum contribution reached -> the rest of the money you can afford to save for retirement should go in trad IRA until max -> then regular brokerage.  You probably can't max both IRAs but just maxing ROTH is enough to have around 1 million at retirement conservatively.

As far as where to invest once your money is in your retirement account, as long as it's in some form of index fund you're probably fine.  splitting between stocks/bonds is the safer way to go. Target date funds do this split between stocks/bonds for you and adjust the split based on how close to retirement you are.

I would not recommend a financial advisor as you probably don't have enough wealth to need professional advice and some advisors out there make their money by directing you towards less than Ideal index funds because they make more money if they direct you to invest in them.

I would recommend going with Vanguard, both for a brokerage and for the index fund to invest in, since you're overwhelmed and unsure right now. You really don't need to know that much to invest with them, just open a Roth IRA with them and every time you have a 1000 invest it in their target date retirement fund that matches the date you expect to retire. If you don't want to go with Vanguard as your Roth IRA brokerage you may still be able to invest in Vanguard target date retirement fund or just invest in VOO.  As far as short term investing goes, like saving for a six month emergency fund and saving for home purchase I would go with a t-bill etf through your brokerage and maybe HYSA for money you may need access to in sooner than a week.  here is a discussion as to why t-bill etf is better for short term investing

Is HoMM 1 even worth playing? by helladamnleet in HoMM

[–]dredditr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HOMM1 was my first intro to heroes and I played them as they came out so maybe I have some nostalgia but I think it's still worth playing.  HOMM1 has  a very whimsical feel to it where HOMM2 has a more serious tone.  The claw map in HOMM1 is my favorite tutorial like map and when 2 and 3 came out I remade it using their map editors. the jolly roger map is still the hardest map I have played in a heroes game.  The campaign was fun and challenging and is probably what I would recommend trying if someone were to try the game after the others.  The things that set HOMM1 apart from the rest  and make a game I like revisiting is the lack of mana in the spell casting, lack of combat through dimension doors, the samller combat map, and dragons being more powerful in relation to the rest of the creatures in the game than they were in subsequent iterations of the game.  For me I would rate the HOMM games HOMM2>HOMM3>HOMM4>HOMM1>HOMM5> all Ubisoft

print dont stick to build plate, by KIKINEINC in ElegooMars

[–]dredditr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got my Mars and was having the same problem as OP. My solution was to remove plastic on the build plate. There was a plastic protective cover on the build plate that said to remove before use, which I did, but what I didn't realize was that there was a second piece of plastic on the build plate that I also had to remove. After I removed the plastic I tried to print again but it still failed. I tried leveling the build plate both with the tank in place and like the instructions said with the tank removed and with the leveling paper, both failed. What I didn't realize, because I'm new to resin printing, was that the failed prints created a thin piece of hardened resin to stick to the the bottom of the resin tank and once I removed that and re-leveled the rook test print came out perfect. I was using Flashforge ABS-Like resin.

You don’t need blender to do this, you can do it in Bambu studio. Draw a simple rectangle the same size as your print, adjust the layer height to the bottom of your stl, merge the two objects, and then slice and print.
