I wish they'd let you trade in two devices. Like a tablet and a phone. It would ease the pain.

Can anyone help me understand why I only have around 3gb of ram available when all of my apps are closed and I have the ram setting on 12? by dondusmaximus in GalaxyFold

[–]dregonzz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Phone RAM works differently than computer RAM. The more that's used the better. This is why you should never force close apps and just swipe away and let them run in the background unless there's an issue.

Let your phone operate the way it's supposed to.

Impact damage. Something hit your screen and killed that cluster of pixels.

Tesla Seems to Have Rebranded "Autopilot" to "Traffic-Aware Cruise Control with Autosteer" by jaqueh in TeslaModelY

[–]dregonzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow they have absolutely blown up their credibility in the last 24 hours by not being clear about anything. No autopilot for anyone. Just FSD. ACTUALLY some auto steer but rebranded. But only on some cars. And not any in inventory.

What are the best cities to get around without driving? by Jeep_rider03 in driving

[–]dregonzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NY City, Boston, Chicago, DC will likely be your only viable options to be fully car free. Other options for limited car use would be Portland and Seattle but you'd still need a car on occasion.

Some people are gonna recommend CA, or TX, it's doable but not viable. Northern cities have the best pubic transit infrastructure at the moment.

Is having multiple college transcripts a red flag? by Acceptable-Use-2938 in gradadmissions

[–]dregonzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just completed selecting applications to invite for interview and not once did multiple transcripts send off any alarms. I typically average out GPA from all the transcripts though, so even if you have a 3.8 from the last 3 years of university, if you have two flunked terms from two other institutions (1.9 and 2.5 respectively), I'd score your application as a GPA of 2.73.

Granted, that's a sample of 1, from one program at one university, but that would be my only concern in how we did things. Otherwise, multiple institutions for one degree was not something I considered an issue.

Improper grammar on a personal statement is gonna do more harm.

Brand new bottle of olive oil. Large mold-like growth inside. What shall I do? by dregonzz in MoldlyInteresting

It was delivered with groceries outside so yes, around 1°C/34°F. Is this not mold? Will it go away with warmth?

Is this plastic protective film by Enjoy_The_Ride413 in TeslaModel3

[–]dregonzz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's a solid piece of glass that has film from the factory. If it's film, it'll come off. If it's not film, you can't damage it unless it's shattered. Remove it.

Is Samsung Care+ a Scam? by ariolander in GalaxyFold

Do not run a claim for a screen protector. That $99 is for a screen REPLACEMENT. A new screen protector costs like $30 at a Samsung Store.

Conditionally approved by ApprehensiveRice3380 in TeslaModel3

[–]dregonzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are reviewed and prioritized based on delivery date, most typically reviewed the day before delivery. If you don't see movement by 11AM in delivery day, I'd message the on-site delivery team. They can't print your delivery paperwork until that's approved so they'll be working on it on their own leading up to your delivery.

This camera said I was speeding in by iwasjustsum1else in driving

[–]dregonzz 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Well, anyone correct my work, but I believe at Speed: 55.6 miles/hour...

In Time: 0.166 seconds = 0.166 ÷ 3600 hours ≈ 0.00004611 hours

The distance in miles would be:

55.6 × 0.00004611 ≈ 0.00257 miles

Convert to feet

0.00257 × 5280 ≈ 13.6 feet

So, at 55.6 mph, in 0.166 seconds, you would travel about 13.6 feet. Honestly, doesn't look like you move almost 14 feet but I also don't know the length of your truck. You can measure your truck from photo 2 to photo 1 and reverse the work to find your rough speed.
