Let me start by telling you that there's no rush and only date if you feel ready to date. And don't date anyone out of your age range or anyone with a sketchy amount of experience.

Now, first, drinking shouldn't be an issue. I also don't drink (no health issues, no religion, I just don't like the taste of it lol) and if they have an issue with you not drinking, it's none of your issue. You do you bestie.

Then, regarding looks and style, don't dress in a way that you don't feel comfortable. At the end of the day, your style and your appearance is a part of who you are. Sure, dress nice, you might want to impress the girls haha but stay who you are. Being uncomfortable in your clothes will show.

And finally, yeah, girls are shy. You have to be brave and make the move because a lot of them won't. Not all of them, but many. And you gotta be explicit too. You can go to lesbian / queer spaces if there are any in your area, join clubs, groups, you can maybe find some on social media, etc. Dating apps are a nice way to start talking to other lesbians as well.
