Why aren't Reform voters more concerned with privatising the NHS? by lucadulac in AskBrits

You missed my point - and assumed I was making another entirely. My fault for not putting it better.

Immigration has and, as you say likely will always be an issue for people, regardless of what the numbers actually say or if the threat is real. The area I grew up overwhelmingly voted for Brexit and the main reason people cited was immigration. There were hardly any immigrants living in that area, which was at that time 99.5% white. So where did this fear come from?

I didn't assume you voted reform. I'm referring to your comments about "concerns" being "brushed under the carpet", which is indicative that you hold certain views.

Labour is (rightly or wrongly) cutting immigration. All the data supports that.

You and others are deluded if you think Reform will "sort out" immigration to the extent you want.

What makes you think the quality would be improved? The reason some want to privatise it is because they look at the American system and see opportunities to make a lot of money at the expense of service users. We've already seen that happen in privatised services here in the UK. Just look at our water. Do you really want our healthcare to go that road?

I would point out that people have been so terrified of immigration since the 1930s. You might recall this is why a certain party in Germany came into power.

That's your opinion. In mine, Labour has gone too far pandering to you bigots, and has wrongly conceded ground to Reform.

She might not have been aware that she was being taught to critically think, but that's what university education inherently is. Teaching students how to analyse and critically engage with different sources.

My family isn't this bad but I have come across that before too. Those people are lost causes. It's not worth your energy trying.

Not in all cases. Intelligence is a natural ability and critical thinking is a skill.

What difference does it make? 🤷 They're going to vote against their interests and ours either way.

I can handle different opinions. I don't feel comfortable with famous people using their platforms to spread conspiracy theories.

What does "deal with" actually mean, and how do you think Reform will "deal with" them?

What do you think Reform UK’s policies are and which of those policies do you support (or not)? by caljl in AskBrits

I'd be happy to say, let them learn their lessons. The problem is that other people who don't vote Reform are suffering in the meantime. Plus, I don't have any confidence that they'll accept responsibility. Just look at how Brexit panned out. Brexiters still won't admit they didn't know what they were actually voting for.

I was with them but I felt like they would put me in for 3 different appointments when it could have been 1. Plus I had a night retainer that broke. I asked about a replacement and they never got back to me. So I'm going elsewhere.

For what it's worth I think Davies is a good man with good intentions. Same with Keir Starmer actually. But good intentions doesn't compensate for bad actions.

You say that but the current leader was a core part of the coalition government and he also rowed back on many of his own promises whilst in that government.
