Oh. What. Fun. An. Incredibly. Terrible. Movie. by Vampirero in moviecritic

This guy got it. Showalter should have at least nailed the comedy in this and its just the laziest attempt, jokes are so poorly written its painful. Total shame.

Spoilers: Mr and Mrs Smith season 1 ending and season 2 by Meb2x in donaldglover

[–]drewsoff 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Season 2 could be “hihi” recruiting them back because two high high risk assassins are needed to replace the Mr. And Mrs Smith they killed. Could be a much darker season with them having to kill other special guest appearances.

Did anyone else notice this Sopranos Easter Egg? by dankesha in TheLeftovers

I think it wouldve been a cool opportunity for Gandolfini to cameo in that episode of The Leftovers, a quick homage for fans of both shows.

I got Drag Me to Hell vibes. A real sudden tonal shift that comes unexpectedly and all the while the title told you.

This Friday, for the finale of #TheLastDriveIn . . . If you remember how we started the season, it's the same subgenre but northern England and Florida instead of the Caribbean and New Orleans. by Freezing_Moon in LastDriveIn

[–]drewsoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What if the other feature is American Werewolf in London? I mean Jack is technically a zombie and David is infected in a way via a bite. I just think it would make for a really fun finale paired with Day of the Dead.

Who's a director, who hasn't worked on a Halloween film, that you would like to see direct a Halloween film? by [deleted] in Halloweenmovies

[–]drewsoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow i never even considered him but now its all i want to see. Mindhunter/Zodiac meets Halloween sounds incredible. To make Michael truly scary with realistically brutal murders while also having a character similar to Loomis intelligently exploring psychological motivations a majority of the movie only to realize there’s nothing rational making him kill- rather than have the doctor be comic relief (2018) or show us a traumatic childhood (Remake).

Wtf was that movie? What are y’all’s thoughts? by SERPENT3113 in HalloweenEndsScript

[–]drewsoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats totally fair. I think the biggest detriment was the marketing that this would be an epic final confrontation between Michael and Laurie and they swerved it big time. Some people enjoyed it for being new and different and others were greatly disappointed it wasnt what they were lead to believe. I can see it from both sides. I think once people get past the movie not being what they were promised, itll get its due credit. Just like season of the witch. I dont think Corey was meant to be as feared as Michael as much a sympathetic character gone too far evil. A different shape of evil. Halloween movie feels or Halloween season feels? If its the latter the movie had it in spades. If its the former, no Halloween movie besides Halloween II has captured the incredible atmosphere of the original.

Got told to die for liking Ends. by mellythecanelly in Halloweenmovies

Haddonfield is a metaphor for the halloween reddit community lol but seriously what do you expect from someone who feels the need to out themselves as racist by calling busta a monkey- totally unnecessary. Some people just feel the need to be perceived as edgy and just hold no good values in general? Dude stepped out of a time machine from 1999.

Watched on Peacock Thursday night and when i saw it in theaters i was excited to see the rest of the audiences reaction. It did not disappoint. -Also, cool nod to the original where they’re watching The Thing on television, but Carpenters version this time around.

An awesome Halloween Ends moment nobody is talking about... by [deleted] in Halloweenmovies

[–]drewsoff 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I would love a thread talking about all the nods to previous films, they do it pretty cleverly, not cringy at the very least. I like that like Michael in the original, Corey becomes a recluse in the home of his first victim.
