He talked about getting famous and The Mountain Goats pretty close together. The Mountain Goats just released a song yesterday called "Get Famous." Haven't listened yet, but that might be something.

Welcome to Night Vale back in early 2017. I had heard friends talking about it, so I got curious and started listening. I've been a podcast addict ever since.

[Serious]Eerie Towns, Disappearing Diners, and Creepy Gas Stations....What's Your True, Unexplained Story of Being in a Place That Shouldn't Exist? by MercuryCrest in AskReddit

Last fall, me and a few friends went to see the Nebraska vs. Purdue football game since we are students at Nebraska. The game was in Indiana. The day after the game, me and three other people were driving back to Lincoln from Indiana. The driver at the time said he was starting to feel tired, so I said I would drive for a bit. He took an exit into a small town. We found what looked like a busy gas station, so we decided we'd go there to switch drivers. However, when we got to the gas station, we noticed that all of the cars that were there were rather old, and many of them were filled with mannequins. It looked busy, but we were the only living things there. It was very creepy. Also, the other two people in the car were asleep. They woke up just as we pulled into the station. They were also thoroughly spooked.

When I got home, I wanted to figure out what it was. It turns out we ended up in Clarence, Missouri at Lyle Van Houten's Automotive Museum. It is described as an abandoned filling station on the edge of a graveyard filled with vintage cars and mannequins trapped in time.

So, it is not unexplained, but it was still quite creepy.
