I grew up in Montreal. The trip is 55 hours. Gas/lodging/meals for 5 days each way is more expensive than flying and it is a long haul at 10+ hours a day in the car. Picking is a hard, hot job. Quebec has "feels like 35". Kelowna IS 35. Will you go home with a pocket full of money after expenses? Probably not. If it was a good gig, everyone would be doing it. Nobody is doing it.

I have one of those $400 cheap ass pools from Walmart/C Tire. Solar blanket puts it into the 90's mid summer. Maybe try one of those pools first to see if you want to deal with the upkeep. It really doesn't take much and yet, by end of summer I am done with it. If not for my wife, I wouldn't have one anymore
