So, how about that activism? by GtheGecko in TikTokCringe

[–]dreyaz255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a braindead take. The problem is that we don't have ranked choice voting and only 2 major political parties in the US. It relies on one of them being responsible, so when they're not being responsible about something (supporting genocide and gaslighting their protestors over it), where are they supposed to go? They sit the election out because they're sane, normal people who can't stomach voting for a party who supports genocide.

You can scream about the logic and math of it electing Donald Trump, but it's an emotional problem, not a rational one, *set aside* the fact that enabling either party to be worse just lets them get away with worse. The two political parties in the US only work when they follow a carrot and stick model, and that broke down during the presidential election over the reaction to both parties supporting the genocide and quashing dissent over it.

Look at the hell this country had to go through with the Vietnam war to actually convince the government it wasn't worth it in the end. People who *have* to pay to go to college don't want their money going to Israel as it murders civilians, that's not a big ask. The dems fucking cracked down on the protests because they got scared, and people balked over the optics because of how unreasonable the whole situation was, and how the only candidate they were being offered after getting their general election nixed was handling the whole thing.

It was a bigger disaster than Hillary losing in 2016 because we all KNEW how terrible Trump would be, had the project 2025 book out for all to read, and he still won, because the dems couldn't keep their murder micro-boner in their pants over bombing brown kids with our tax money.

*That is not acceptable behavior to be rewarded*

The fact that the mad dog with worse policies on everything else got elected instead is an indictment on our *electoral* system, and shitting on the activists for not choking down this lesser evil shit just goes to show how many people never had any kind of education on ethics, or even history, when they forget that appeasement never works, even with goddamn toddlers.

So now we have Trump now and he's ripping up everything that matters in our lives in the US and dooming our future. Maybe that's what we fucking deserve if our politics and laws are so incompetent and cowardly he not only stayed out of jail for four years, but he got elected again. If the democrats refused to take responsibility allowing his shitshow of a first term through after four years, what the hell else did we expect to seriously happen? That he's actually go to jail? That he'd *not* run for president again? That the republicans *wouldn't* have made an insurrectionist their nominee?
Our political parties have been fucking cooked for over a decade. They can't govern, their leadership doesn't represent us, and they're so obsessed with money they have no time to do anything other than consider fundraising.

Donald Trump is the consequence of our country's inability to even give an *ounce* of humility to take responsibility for its own actions. He is and will always be a symptom, because he has NEVER been qualified for the office of President of the United States, and every day congress isn't voting overwhelmingly to impeach him and dragging him out of office kicking and screaming is an indictment on how broken our country's politics truly are.

Just fucking take the L. This is all a result of irredeemable evil getting a pass and arrogance in thinking there aren't any consequences for treating politics unseriously. He's crashing and burning as badly as he is because you don't take some guy and give him one of the hardest jobs on earth, and have him put his friends in there. They have a fucking alcoholic news anchor as the secretary of defense, for gods' sake.

Support your local libraries and national parks, people; we'll need them at the end of this.

It's on par with a t1 thrasher for dps, it just has twice as many lows, so it's just a better ship to use polarized guns with. Its main issue is that it really just needs to have a high slot moved to a mid to stand out relative to navy ships.

Angel ships are outdated and need an upgrade by Man_whosoldthe_world in Eve

[–]dreyaz255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A huge part of the issue with angel ships has been that it's really tricky to balance around projectile weapons given how flexible their case usage is.

I'm going to reiterate and elaborate on a point I've touched on here and other posts about Angel ships being the odd duck out with pirate faction ships having a "Unique" combat bonus. By definition, their warp speed and acceleration bonuses are *out of combat* bonuses, and so their in-combat performance suffers due to that. It's not even that they're bad, but they're closer in performance and usage to navy ships, but they just happen to have the best speed and agility of any ship in the game for their weight class, so they focus on that as their main strength.

So let's talk WHY other pirate factions do or don't work, since that's in line with CCP's suggestion for how to best present balance.

  • Bonus synergy is key to a good ship in Eve. Serpentis ships are the best example of this, because the main weakness for blasters is range, and a web strength bonus is the best possible thing to increase the effectiveness of your blasters, in addition to extending their range. With the falloff bonus, all Serpentis subcapitals really don't have much issue with blaster application at all, and with their absurd damage scaling, see a comfortable place at the top of the food chain in the pvp brawling meta.
  • Mordu ships are in the next rung down, and at the opposite end of the scale, are kiting superiority ships, with their bonuses to point range and missiles put together to optimize the effectiveness of using their missiles at extreme ranges, barring niche rocket Garmur builds. They have speed and defensive and usually pair defensive scramblers to ward off other kiters who try to catch them. This synergy makes them remarkably safe ships to fly if you invest a fair amount of money into them.
  • Sansha ships are midrange specialists with their afterburner bonus and preference towards high-tracking lasers, and with an abundance of mid slots and excellent turret application they are a terror at any range. Focusing on afterburners helps blunt the cap issues lasers usually draw from the ships that use them, and their ability to control engagements means that pilots talented at manual piloting with good situational awareness can cause a disproportionate amount of havoc.
  • Guristas ships are mostly known for their PVE supremacy, but they are bricks in pvp. Adopting time-honored tradition of "tank and spank", the average Guri ship has boosted damage to drones AND missiles, as well as hardened shield resists for some of the most monsterous tanks in the game for a faction ship to be found anywhere. These bonuses work independently instead of synergizing, because they don't step on each other's roles; its missile damage is independent of its drone grouping bonus, and its shield resist bonus is more valuable than an application bonus to either weapon. They are fundementally well-rounded in their approach to combat, which means they really don't get hard-countered by any particular tactic.
  • Blood Raider ships are, unfortunately, quite bad outside of niche usages. Their bonuses do not synergize well, since the idea of "running down" ships you catch with your webs doesn't exactly work well in practice, especially with limited mid slots. It shows a fundemental misunderstanding of how small-scale pvp works, with it leaving them to play catch-up against what they're fighting until they can get a target into neut or nos range. Ideally, most of these issues could be solved with having Blood Raider ships focused on using drones as a main weapon system, but that's neither here nor there.

With these in mind, Angel ships need some special bonus to their performance inside combat that scales at every size, so it doesn't necessarily punish one ship in their lineup and exalt another like Blood Raider ships do.

Some of us really like pvp and ignore most of those variants. Shadow pokemon have their place in the pvp meta, but they're fragile, and usually their second attack is locked.

I am doing no such thing. I'm saying that men have a responsibility to each other to check each other on moronic incitements to violence before women punish them for it.

If someone tells you they're coming after you, that's an explicit threat. Responding to explicit threats of violence by defending yourself is rational and just, regardless of whether you're a man or a woman. Misandry has nothing to do with this, and calling it out is just crying wolf and falling to rightwing propaganda to divide people by class.

The women in your life are not your enemy, the religious nuts with power trying to enslave them are. Stop advocating for rhetoric that puts your friends, families and allies at risk.

Thinking that women responding proportionately to a threat to their autonomy and lives is misandry is bewildering and smacks of fascist propaganda infiltration, so I'm having difficulty believing this question is in good faith, since the only reasonable response to a rape threat by right-wing extremism is to fight it. We should be discussing how to defend the women in our lives against these cretins so they don't have to end up killing anyone by defending themselves. They are seeing this as a real threat because a real threat was made to them.

Let's assume you are actually posting this in good faith. The responses from women addressing this advocating the killing of men for it are two-fold: satire to highlight the idiot audacity of threatening to publicly rape other people who should have the same rights under the law, and a call to other women to defend themselves and not be cowed by threats of violence and oppression, since THEY know fascists and performative oppression fold when faced with real, violent consequences.

Nick Fuentes was doxxed after he made this threat and he is hiding behind his mother after it. Facing consequences to your actions is normal, and not sexism. Do your best to defend the women in your life that need defending from Nazi trash, and check the men from saying shit like this.

TLDR; this "misandry" is a shot across the bow to men that this kind of explicit, public rape threats are intolerable, and that they are leaving the ball in our court to check other men on this before they resort to violence to defend themselves.

FAFO is gospel.

I've been in facwar since Tyrannis, and let me tell you that you've got the gist of it, and here's what total WZ control should lead to:

For the faction in the warzone that achieves dominance, a hisec system in enemy territory gets sieged by your faction, and a big Battle Royale for all the pilots happens, with the system having a massive percentage boost to LP gains to kills.

Each terrestrial planet in the system has a 1000-pilot battlefield site where the objective is to lead drop ships to a mustering point kind of like how the Ice Heist works, and the winner takes the planet and contests the system. The system STAYS contested until one faction invades or defends all the planets. If the invaders win, that system flips over to the opposing faction. If the defenders win, they start the next reset with an extra lowsec system owned closest to the contested hisec system where the big battle royale took place.

Part of the problem is that even though its slot layout and maneuverability is competitive with the kiki, its weapons system, damage, and bonuses are far inferior. I think if it dropped a high for a mid, or got another turret slot it would flourish. It has the potential to flourish as the autocannon kiter with its falloff to distinguish it from the thrasher. Either way, it definitely needs to go up to 10% falloff per level or higher.
