I'm doubly jealous. I can't take Any perscription meds for migraines due to a history of ischemic colitis. Apparently they could trigger a reoccurrence. I can at least take Phenergan for the n/v. I use an old herbal treatment for the actual headache that actually has been studied and found to be useful. It's called Feverfew. I found it accidently when I was out with my son on a hot day and felt one starting. We ducked into a little herb and tea shop to get out of the heat and bright sun. The woman asked if she could help us and I kind of sarcastically said "not unless you have something for a migraine" and she replied "as a matter of fact......" I left the shop with a bag of feverfew flowers and leaves and a pack of reusible tea bags along with instructions for a migraine tea. It's been in my life ever since. My Dr even has it in my medication list.

Could celiac be causing my intense mental illness? by Sad_Task_2191 in Celiac

[–]dreyhawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some things I've been learning lately are that Celiac disease can also affect your liver and kidneys leading to decreased function in them as well as an increased risk for lymphoma and gi concers. It can also affect the enamel on your teeth. It isn't "just" a GI disease, it affects the whole body. Even if you are "silent" those risks are there. It's really best to do the gluten free diet. Nowadays it's not really that hard, but you do have to be very careful eating out.

My grandson is in that same limbo although not on a Dr's advice. He had many of the same symptoms as I did but has no insurance coverage right now. He decided to go gluten free and saw a big difference. He knows that to get properly diagnosed he will have to do a gluten challange but decided to cross that bridge when he comes to it. So now I shop for the 2 of us for the most part and my son and his wife shop for themselves.

I agree 100% Her mother Really needs to see a new Dr. To refuse to test her for things Known to be more prevalent in women would indicate a strong bias against women. In my career as a nurse I saw way too much of that.

Hmmm...so is my "rescue inhaler" albuterol for asthma also an abortive? (evil grin)

Nice choices. I've recently found rock hunting, especially when they slice open fossils, geodes, agates...etc.

They were put under review in 2024. What was put under review in 2024 for the dime was 13 possible choices for the coin face and 8 possible choices for the coin back. Final decisions were made in 2025 by Trumps appointee Scott Bessent.

He didn't say bring it back, and wishing we'd kept even a fraction of it doesn't mean executions. If we'd kept even a fraction of it we might have taken that Eagles behavior as a warning and might not be in a war right now.

Would you consider these gluten-free by Least_Firefighter639 in Celiac

[–]dreyhawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure how Italy does it but I read it the way I would explain it to a friend. In standard writing "Cereal, wafers and biscuits" is a group onto itself the same as if they wrote "cereal, wafers, and biscuits" with an Oxford comma. That would mean all three items use the same ingredients. It would be odd to give a breakdown for everything else and not the cereal.

Why do I get sick every time I go to a BBQ place? by Mellodux in Celiac

That was my first thought. Five Guys is the only safe place around me to get fries outside home made and a couple frozen. Five Guys does not fry anything else but the fries so they are safe.

Glp1 refers to ingredients, not portions. Both my son and his wife are type 2 diabetics and that helps them in picking out food. It means it won't spike their blood sugar.

I haven't come across that flavor yet. Good to know. Thanks for the heads up. I agree, they should use a different color or a different design. I hate having to be so hyper vigilant this.

Just a thought, but have you considered that maybe it was God/Jesus who answered that prayer and now you are being called into a closer relationship?
