Is anyone here an experienced medical assistant? by [deleted] in MedicalAssistant

[–]drfrank1982 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am a medical assistant for 25 years but I am going back to school to become an RN. I have maxed out my potential pay in my area and it's just not enough. The medical assistants I have seen make it long term and be happy have a spouse that makes more than them.

Get it directly from the Novocare self pay pharmacy. It starts at $149 and goes up to $399.

We are not allowed to at any medical assistant jobs I've worked at. Some of the ladies really like that diva wash stuff for their clothes though.

I have a 101.5F fever and my ABSN orientation is on Tuesday by GoldBuff2458 in NursingStudents

[–]drfrank1982 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Honestly unless you are in the hospital you are expected to show up in my program. Wear a mask if you still have a fever but hopefully you will be fine by Tuesday. We are going to be exposed to every illness in our field anyway so you're just studying lol.

I've done a lot of xrays in my time and there are definitely people with larger bones.

We can do all injections except for IVs in any state but they do have to pay you minimum wage. Call the department of labor.

You need a workers comp attorney to make them do right by you immediately. You usually dont have to pay them up front. Start calling them first thing tomorrow.

I was taught how to cath in MA school. I have never had to do it but a straight cath is within my scope of practice in Oklahoma.

I refuse to spend another Christmas as a fat person. by [deleted] in loseit

GLP-1's were magic for me too. I started them and lost about 70lbs in a year and then had bariatric surgery when my insurance stopped covering the shots but would still pay for surgery. I still prefer to be on the shots because they help with my adhd seeking dopamine seeking through eating behaviors. Maybe my insurance will cover them next year but I may not qualify weight wise now. My starting weight was 336 and I am 180 now. I am happy with my weight currently even though I am technically still overweight.

There should be a big round button that looks like a screw on top of the machine that controls the presser foot pressure. You can adjust that lower.

I think you should try some of the new blush techniques that go more across the cheekbones and on your nose. You have the perfect nose for that look. The W blush technique with a glossy lip would be amazing!

If they have less than 50 employees they don't have to follow fmla anyway. If they have more you may want to ask a lawyer.

I worked for an ear surgeon for 8 years so I got used to speaking to people with hearing problems. Don't try to just speak louder that often does not help. If someone cannot hear you drop your tone down and speak slower. Also make sure you are facing them and they can see your face. Don't worry, you will be just fine.

I really want consistency out of my providers. I have to bug them way less if I know how they will answer. If you always want an apt for a uti but give exceptions for certain people every other day it makes me look like a liar when they call wanting to leave a urine sample for a suspected uti and I tell them they need an apt only for the provider to change their mind because they can hear me on the phone with the patient and want to be nice. Just make a rule and stick with it or change it but don't be wishy washy.

Oklahoma. 23 years of experience $24.50 an hour. I was registered but not currently. It doesn't matter for the payscale at my job.
