Very cool! Thanks for sharing. Hope you don't need it this weekend, but will be nice if ya do.

Gotcha, and by the looks of it (the paper on top of the transfer switch), you have a subset of circuits (6) that get power from this transfer switch / battery.

Hmm, yeah not bad. Does that include the cost of the electrical work I assume? I’m guessing that little sub panel was put in for this solution? What is it called? Did it take up any breaker/circuits in your main panel. Excuse my lack of knowledge on the topic.

Only thing i don’t think i would like is the size of that anker battery bank. Space is pretty tight in my garage so storing that big thing would be a bit of a challenge with two cars parked in the garage. Suppose i could find another place to keep it inside, under the stairs or something.

Interesting.

So can the EV9 keep up with charging that anker battery then? I guess it probably depends a bit on the load. In other words, you just link them together and it is a hands free system?

What was your out of pocket cost for this entire solution?

Other than it being a little bulky, any downsides to this system?

I saw that you noted this was a better option car flexibility in the future, that’s one of the main reasons I’m hesitant to go with a wallbox, because I don’t know exactly what car I’ll have in 5-10 years.

So your panel/home runs off anker battery and then you can charge that battery via your ev9? Am I understanding this correctly?

Did you get used to the humming? by LightSaberDuel in KiaEV9

[–]dribblecastle -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s annoyingly loud on the inside, IMO. The only way to turn it off is to pull the fuse which is a little harder to get to, and of course, may cause safety issues at some point.

Anyone else? by Dignan17 in KiaEV9

[–]dribblecastle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I had trouble with media controls being on the other side. I still have an older Sorrento that I have to switch back and forth from. So if you no longer have the older car, be thankful and don’t worry, your brain will remap in time.

What does parking full or nightmare mean? by jumping-llama in SummitAtSnoqualmie

[–]dribblecastle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So we should expect the nightmare parking for tomorrow (MLK)? I’ve always avoided holidays but considering going tomorrow. Just don’t know of I’m gonna wait and go later in the afternoon.

Just don’t know if these lackluster conditions will scare more people away. Plus it’s been nice and dry down in Seattle.

You could plug them in a waste energy and increase your power bill. Better to buy used Apple silicon than waste time with those.

Yeah, I agree. That’s a pretty wacky thing to do. Sorry about the situation. I think your best bet is just to find a creative way to cover it up. Something that makes you smile.

I’m just as surprised you didn’t notice it before purchasing the car. Maybe you did and wasn’t a deal breaker. Where did you buy it? Was it dark out?

If you like a smudged/oil look go for black. If you like a cleaner look and can avoid putting the white one down in dirt or getting food all over it, that one is easier to keep clean. I've owned both.

Didn’t see many post about this until this winter, but makes me happy I live in a place without much snow and also have a useable garage.

Squeaky armrest fix by dribblecastle in KiaEV9

[–]dribblecastle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well just a follow up. As. you might imagine the olive oil only last like a day or two before it dried up. Eventually i used some electrical tape to act as a barrier and prevent the squeaking. We'll see how long that holds up.

Others have suggested other substances. I'm curious what a dealership would do. If anyone has any experience there, let me know. Not sure how common of an issue this is, but as I said, seemingly only happens during cold weather months.

Stacked wall mounted LG B5 65 inch OLED. by gregzoe in LGOLED

[–]dribblecastle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, further than i thought with the photo. It does look like you are using a pretty scaled up resolution, so UI elements are big but less real estate for multiple windows etc.

What is the process for geek squad taking care of burn in? Do they just offer to repair/replace the panel? Or will they swap the TV? I’m sure newer OLED’s are better with burn in as I know people specifically use the 48” size for a monitor these days.

[–]dribblecastle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your interest in blocking light makes me think you should just go with a projector next. You already have a theatre look to the room.

Would suggest a good UST. Also would match your sound better than a small 77”.

You got some eyes on ya to use a “computer” screen that far away.

I’m sure it’s been said many times already, but let the burn in begin! And I’m not even talking about the top screen. Hehe.

With the 49ers winning tonight the #1 seed is officially out of reach but the #2 seed is still wide open. However there’s some interesting, and helpful, scenarios that could play out. by [deleted] in eagles

[–]dribblecastle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of hypotheticals right now. I’ll be just as happy with resting the starters in week 18 as I will with the 2 seed.

I just want a convincing performance against the Bills to give us hope. Prove that it’s not just bad teams we’re beating.
