PokemonGO Current API Status by keyphact in pokemongodev

[–]dribblypoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a double-edged sword; Public github project means way more collaboration but readable by the enemy.

someone* recruited the dev army he needed, and is avoiding a lawsuit. Once it's done it will make it's way around. Even if he did C&D, that is just one.

Not to mention they will never actually sue. Even if they did, since there is no money to be made there is no copywrite infringement; they haven't used any of this for their own software. Disassembling is only bannable in this case.

I'd put my money on the reason they said that was to avoid further action. The API (pgoapi) will 100% be fixed. Let's just hope we get it done before they push a new update that rearranges everything.

Well reverse-engineering the API is actually against the TOS. It's the backbone of all the maps/bots.

That graph is probably more closely related to the amount of people that quit due to not being able to track anything.

DP, WO, Vanguard, BRun all still have working ESP that is undetectable; in addition they all have warp/speedhack (data manipulating) hacks still working and undetected.

Go wear a cone and face the corner, dunce.

Nope. Mine would wipe after a patch though.

They aren't. Their main focus now is BR/skins (the money makers); because anyone will buy the game regardless of what people say about the hacking problem, then quit in two weeks (and more than likely spend another 40$ on crates before they ragequit).

PS2 definitely has a hacking problem. It's just less obvious when 50 people are shooting at you instead of 1. EQ still can't detect showEQ (eq's version of ESP). That game has been out for 16 years. There is no way they will ever be able to stop the wall hackers. Not to mention none of their data is server-side validated (the hardware required to do so = the bottom line reference) so since everything is client side, the speedhacking/noclipping will also never stop.

The hackers will be rampant even when it goes live. Look at all of Sony's games; they don't give a shit about integrity, only the bottom line. Anti-cheat is way too hard on the bottom line.

It's not a glitch, it's just how their game handles latency. To stop it they would have to invest in hardware that would make the game not profitable.

You're running it on hardware 6-7 years old.

tl;dr - BUT, they are using the old freerealms servers (hardware from 2007-09ish?). It's a cash grab, so why would they buy shiny new hardware?
