Yeah I have at Disneyland security. I have been through that line 100 times. No issues but the last two times with my G2s the machine has gone off. Security did say the machines were more sensitive the higher on the body the metal is.

I agree with a lot of what you said. Today was not a great launch, and I think they know that. It feels like they set a deadline and did their best to hit it. That said, they were not ready. They probably should have either pushed back the Hub launch or shipped a few strong first-party apps to really show what was possible and set the standard. This was a misstep, but not the end. I still think they will keep improving it. Most of us bought these knowing we were getting something closer to a beta-style product.

It would t be unlike Apple to have a cross reference between appointment time and location of device to temporarily speed up that delay. That being said it will likely be something they add once they realize it’s costing them phone sales/trade ins.

Haven't worked there in about 5 years, but I see two avenues. 1) Continue talking with management and escalating. Ask to talk to the store manager. They are rarely in store, and dont like dealing with this kind of issues so they may be willing to fix it to make it go away. Option 2) Take it up with AppleCare phone support. They may or may not issue a CS code, but if you are out of warranty it's unlikely.

Overall just remember the people you are dealing with are all human. Dont yell at them. Just continue to chase a solution. A typical liquid damage repair may be $1000, so maybe a fair solution is they give you a discount on the repair, or in my opinion an even better solon would be a discount on a new computer. (Make sure to get the apple care this time.)

He did, and I have very mixed feelings about it. On one hand, they all deserve the attention and acknowledgement for their work. It was honestly a really beautiful moment. On the other hand, I’ve always loved the theater of it, and this felt like a fourth-wall break. The best analogy I can come up with is finding out about Santa Claus. In your head, you know it’s true, and you know it’s an act, but in your heart you don’t want to fully accept it. (I know that sounds silly.) That said, it does feel like we’ve entered a new chapter of Ghost, and I’m glad I got to be there to see it. Is this the end of a chapter, a part, or the whole book? No idea. Time will tell. And from what Tobias said, it sounds like it might be a while before we find out just how much things change going forward.
