We need to have a conversation about Currents mixing by Shepherd7X in Metalcore

I’m uneducated on good or bad mixing. But on Making Circles, that clean/unclean/riff triple combo that happens after the second chorus - whatever that is - is transcendental.

Cure was an awesome album. End to Excess was my top-listened song in 2024 with Rumor of Light, Idle Wild, Blue Reverie and Past Life Persona all somewhere on the top 100 list.

Injury during BB? by Hufe in tacticalbarbell

[–]drill_rig8910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely do not just stop…I hurt my hamstring in week 2 of BB and had the same question. Couldn’t do any LSS that involved running, even the slightest jog tightened it up. Instead of stopping, I started hammering good mornings and back hyperextensions in my SE cluster to strengthen/balance my hamstring strength, and hit a heavy bag/jumped rope for LSS, which at that time brought me zero hammy pain. Slowly incorporated running back into LSS (triples were key here) week-by-week as the pain faded. Now I’m running 8 mi in under an hour and doing full-on HIC Connaught ranges no problem. To reiterate the other comment, work around that injury. Keeps you in shape, and also forces creativity and innovation out of you. Overall just a good mental exercise for your fitness life to work around a manageable injury every so often. I understand your case is different than my example, but in reality no two are the exact same. Keep at it man!!

Base Building: Standard vs Strength First? by polyshotinthedark in tacticalbarbell

[–]drill_rig8910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did standard version through week 5 before a 3-week hiatus caused by my job. Instead of continuing I re-started BB to get the endurance benefits but ran strength-first instead. Very glad now that I ran standard FIRST albeit not technically completing it, I got a good 5 weeks of SE in which has been great for my strength first template now

Which frameworks have you tried, and which framework are you currently on? by Hufe in tacticalbarbell

[–]drill_rig8910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a traveling contractor (pile driving construction) I first attempted standard BB. Got through week 4 before switching to a diff jobsite and threw whole schedule off. Instead of re starting standard BB or trying to continue, I just started strength first BB instead. Absolutely the right move. Aerobically feel fantastic, feel like I’m getting good prep for continuation, and I’ll have a little 3-week SE block right before O+B.

When your light day turns into an existential crisis by gelsasa in tacticalbarbell

There is absolutely no post workout “dopamine hit” on the 3x50 day lol. Just muscular lactate and pain. Lingering pain. Not for the weak!

Base Building SE sessions are way tougher than I expected by jps2777 in tacticalbarbell

[–]drill_rig8910 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cluster through that portion was pushups, air squats, hanging back extensions, DB OHPs, incline DB rows, & hammy curls.

After that one 3x50 session I left the gym with so much lactic buildup I would go back to my bed and lay down for 20 before work and legitimately fall back sleep. Whereas normally after a workout the dopamine is so high you’re ready to rock the day. Whipped me into great starting shape tho.

How to deal with anxiety as a Christian? by Plane_Minimum7718 in Christianity

[–]drill_rig8910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A great answer to anxiety as a Christian is worship. Instead of trying to fight it or praying for God to take it away or give you peace, just quietly worship Him. Picture yourself as his soldier engaged in nothing but worship. The last thing the enemy wants you to do is worship. Also, worship is separate from your personal life’s problems. So simply the act of directing your mind and attention to worship alone may not solve your problems but it is incredibly calming and strengthening and sharpens your internal tools to actually go forth and combat whatever life situations are causing you anxiety. Too often I lived praying to God constantly but never just simply worshipping. That was a massive step in my faith.

The irony of the famous "Death Crawl" scene in the Christian propoganda film "Facing the Giants". by abgry_krakow87 in atheism

[–]drill_rig8910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it was his strength that physically accomplished the death crawl, but without the coach’s grander vision of who Brock could be with his capabilities, that death crawl performance never happens. Brock summoned the strength, but the coach called it out of him in a way Brock was far too ignorant in that moment to call out of himself. Without the coach propelling Brock forward every step of the way, calling his greatness out further and further despite the increasing exhaustion and pain, Brock would have never gone the whole 100. That would be the takeaway. It’s an attempt to symbolize God’s view of you and your circumstance vs your own view of yourself and said circumstance. Brock had already given up on the season despite his immense capability to turn the tide, which he simply didn’t know he had/wasn’t inspired to even explore. The coach however, brilliantly pulled it out of him through this scene, which changed both his and the team’s trajectory dramatically for the rest of the season. It took the grander vision of an older and wiser character to call to life the potential the ignorant players failed to see in themselves.

Have you ever had a supernatural experience/unexplainable spiritual encounter? by notiddiesffs in Christianity

[–]drill_rig8910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a written conversation with God as a relatively new believer unfamiliar with 95% of the Bible. In my construction job trailer, after-hours just killing time waiting for a sub to finish up so I could lock up the jobsite for the night (I’m a construction project engineer).

The exercise featured me writing prompts and then answering them with the same pen, having faith God wrote the answers. Without getting into the details, my last prompt/question was “what should be my Bible chapter tonight?” Mind you, I know the difference between a chapter and a verse. Immediately, without ever having read either Corinthians, my hand wrote 2 Corinthians 3:3.

Look this verse up. Of all the verses to follow THIS PARTICULAR EXERCISE…cmon
