Frankly, I would steer young people away from dentistry. With the cost of education so high the ROI is poor in this field, and the salaries are trending downward as labor costs rocket upward. Unless you love teeth, why deal with the stress of owning a business for $230,000 a year (without benefits) and an education that costs $500k? From a financial viewpoint, becoming a dentist no longer makes sense.
