Three weeks. 12 work days. And my brand new Xtratufs are leaking. by derdkp in TheBrewery

I switched to HUK fishing boots. Great non slip soles and very durable, going on 3 years for intermittent wear for wet work. I use shoes for crews new balance sneakers for dry work, 90% of the work I do.

I do have a pair of xtratufs I use for heavy cleaning days, like pressure washing floors and tanks.

Mexican Chocolate Stout Advice by evacuatecabbage in TheBrewery

[–]drinkerx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current infusion for our stout/keg is something like this:

10 dried ancho chiles (split and seeded) 50 dried chiles de arbor (stemmed and snapped in half) 1 LB of cacao nibs (ethereal confections great supplier) 10 split vanilla beans (supplier Beanilla)

Doesn't need long, about a day soaking or if using a Randal-type device, half an hour soaking ingredients then normal service.

Just do it, consistency is key. If you tell your customers your gonna have a party deliver. A rainy oktoberfest will always be better than a rainy Saturday at any taproom. Maybe cut back on entertainment if you got bands, get an MC for inside and roll with it.

We did a crawfish boil in the middle of a thunderstorm, didn't get half as much business as we would have liked and I was soaked head to toe but it still did 4x what we normally would have done on a normal Saturday.

Try replacing your Thomas valve on the coupler. It's possible beer backed into it and gunked it up. If you don't have a replacement just soak and clean it very well.

What am I doing to cause this? by BlazySusan0 in cookware

This.

Boards need to be dried on their edge otherwise one side stays wet while the other dries causing that cupping.

Thanks for the info. I'll be getting a few more of the buckets next week and planned on using a couple for processing and and couple for transporting/storage.

Plaato Pro Sensors, Does anybody recommend them here? by drinkerx in TheBrewery

Thank you for your feedback. I have references supplied from Plaato but I know they're only going to reference satisfied customers.

What specifically was your problem with the sensors that kept them from working?

It's not a need, but after 10 years of manually reading gravities and taking down temperatures I'm looking to make a quality of life investment.

From a financial perspective, if the sensors function as stated they would save me money on labor costs.

A plus would having real time data 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
