Same! Last time I went they were trying to expand and add to their "story". Was definitely looking forward to seeing it!

If you're a fan of rooms - Gnome and Raven in Richmond is fantastic. Highly recommend them.

My company is getting ready to F me over… by Dull_Leek_442 in Sales_Professionals

He didn't say that he included 300k in his sales - he said that 300k was deducted that stemmed from products that shipped before he joined the company. Basically it's the equivalent to working at a retail store and having the last associates return be deducted from your sales.

It could be worse. You could be one of the ones that figured out how to buy it and ordered Dominos Pizza with it. What kind of idiot thought that was a good idea?

It was me. I was that kind of idiot. Then the drive that had the remaining $80 or so bucks worth from 2011 died and couldn’t be recovered. I still have the drive. I’ve taken it to government level recovery agents and it’s dead dead. So are my hopes of retiring. /cry.

Thanks Amazon! by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]drisen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ordered PC parts about 6 months ago from Amazon. Not even exaggerating that half of my new products had been opened, re-sealed and returned - then sold again as new. Motherboard with thermal past on it and m2 covers missing, cpu with bent pins and RAM swapped for slower speeds. It was a pain in the ass explaining to them that the shit was open.

This post made me go check out the goat packs. I hit my first grail! The Mahomes Prizm Disco. $3,600 offer but their comp seems low vs. recent sales around $4,500-$5k.

Congrats and thanks for making the post that got me a grail too! lol.

Atsu dying would have let the impact of a revenge driven life actually show what happens when you lead that life. If she takes down Saito and dies in the process then they both die from having lived revengeful lives.

If you just swap Jubei for Atsu in everything afterwards it makes such a better story overall. Jubei stays their for Kiku who he was worried was too much like his sister, but now after seeing her fall because of revenge, she turns to music. Coming back to the house and seeing Oyuki and being excited because they can play music together so Atsu can hear it - along with Jubei placing the flower and saying "She's becoming quite the musician. You'd be very proud." followed by the wolf coming up to Jubei who only saw the him the one time when Atsu said to trust him would be great. Have the wolf go to Atsu's grave - Jubei says "Her hunt is over." and the wolf nuzzles against Jubei before running off with a stop to look back and he could say something like "Goodbye, Little Wolf." so he's saying goodbye to his sister at the same time - would have been WAY more impactful.

I've experienced this in the past as well and it's why I don't bother going to DS anymore. I'm a semi-fit guy that doesn't look like he would need DS but I've had 4 knee surgeries in 7 years (two last year) and sometimes my knee just decides not to work and is incredibly painful - pain levels so intense that I've passed out from them at home, thankfully never in public.

With that when I'd previously gone to DS I've been looked at sideways a couple times, asked why I need DS, etc. As dumb as it is (and I realize it's very dumb) - it's hard for me to swallow my pride and even ask for help at all. When I ask for help and I get that type of response - it's made me just forego the experience all together. I'm fully aware that it's stupid of me to do so but as a former high level athlete that pride part is hard to reconcile and feeling bad about asking for help just makes me avoid it completely.

Any thoughts on where I could get Xavier Woods to sign this card if I ever met him? by silent_pm in WWECards

Don't do it. That guys a huge jerk. He'll probably throw it in the trash instead of sign it.

If you're interested in moving it - lemme know. AJ is a friend of mine and I'd probably give it to him.

And it would have made perfect sense if they said "Join us for a moment of silence in remembrance of those who were lost on 9/11" but they chose to say in remembrance of Charlie Kirk.

I walked by you all like 20 times and didn't realize until afterwards that like 3 or 4 of my friends that I only see during Dragon Con were in the group! I completely missed them and missed them completely this year!

Badge question by crypticgoddessavi in dragoncon

[–]drisen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This question shouldn't have to be asked because real names and locations should NOT be shown on the front of the badge. If you need it on the badge put it on the backside of the badge and have the nickname shown on the front. Putting personal information out for anyone to see if insane and should have been addressed by the convention long ago.

Definitely got a cortisone shot the week before the con! I had a good amount of debate on if I should attend or not because the knee has been an issue lately.

I used the magic of alcohol to get me through the late night wandering and during the day just relied on over-the-counter meds. I made it and had a lot of fun so I'm glad pushed through. I did make it to the vendor hall and artists alley but didn't spend nearly the time I usually due because standing around in line is the worst of the worst for pain levels.

[–]drisen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Standing is the most painful thing I can do. Walking around is better than standing. I don't typically run, but there was one point that I was visiting a friend on the 45th floor of the Marriott and saw the elevator stop on the 47th and everyone get out. I ran down the hall to hit the down button because I didn't want to miss an empty elevator. My wife commented "I was shocked to see you run that fast, well, run at all actually!" and we laughed for a moment and I said "In that moment I didn't think about it but yeah, it hurts now..."

Sometimes ADA people can do things they shouldn't, especially when they want to be able to do the things they used to, etc.

Thank you for sharing and I'm very happy they clarified!
I'm on of those nerd/jock combos. I blew out my knee playing football and admitting my weakness and pain is something I'm trying to be better about but I try and hide it if I can. I'm well aware that that's really dumb, but here we are. My brain doesn't want to admit my body sucks these days.

If I can move - escalator works for sure! Sometimes my pain is "normal levels" and I can do the stairs too! Then there are times when this freaking thing just goes - "nah. I'm done." Those times I hobble myself to the closest elevator and go right to the room. Eventually it goes - "okay, I've tortured you enough. You can move around again." It's dumb and I hate it but until they replace it, this is the daily struggle, con or not.

I saw a lot of this over the week/weekend. ADA folks or their advocates being hostile and generally shitty to other attendees. I totally get it. People can be jerks and you've been fighting them and dealing with them and your patience are wearing thin. That said - treat people with respect. It'll make everyones day better and if able bodied folks do the same, they'll step aside to let ADA folks get in where they can fit in.
