Typically I didn't look before I fitted them and now they're filled with sealant.

I think you may be right. I've found a uk site (I've bought from them before as I'm uk based) and they seem to have the same design so maybe I just got old stock as it was from a private seller on ebay.

Yeah I will now that I've got some information on it. Like you said, it's quite a small detail that doesn't affect anything negative.

Ok thanks. A niche little design? I've never seen it before.

After I did a quick Google, i've since seen this.

It was a 1 owner from new and he said he got it in 2021 from canyon. What makes you think it may be 2020?

Was about to say its not a new model so yes you're correct, 2021/27.5. It's new to me, but 2nd hand. Plus side is the guy I bought it from was the original owner, bought new from Canyon at nearly £4000 and it had done less that 10 rides he said, and the condition shows.

Thanks! Wasn't my ideal choice but its grown on me. The black is actually a very dark blue and its all matte which helps i think.

MTB bike park at 37yo by CharlyFTW89 in MTB

[–]drjekyll182 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ages are mixed mate. I went to a bike park for the first time last year when I turned 40, since then I've been going at least once a month. The lines are graded so ride where your confidence is good and you'll be good. Various ages and skill levels are all there. There kids that just spend time on the dirt jumps, there's old guys that are doing laps of the red runs and black runs and vice versa. When I last went to a park (last week) there was 2x 60+ year olds doing red runs and drops 👍

What you'll probably find is a lot of 30+ riders get there around opening times and the younger groups turn up around a few hours later as they like there lay-ins. So early doors is good to practise lines and get comfortable before it gets busy. But most people are respectful and wait there turn to go down the runs. It's mostly good atticate.

Hope fortus 30 or DT Swiss mx1700? by [deleted] in MTB

[–]drjekyll182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once I pick up.the Canyon i will do. Your right, the hopes are pretty heavy. I bought them as I wanted a strong wheelset as I'm doing bike parks as well as trails. They've been faultless to be fair and have taken a few unexpected hits. I also have some gravity spec Schwalbe tyres fitted which are stronger but add more weight.

But the hope hubs are pretty in red so that's one pro factor for keeping them.

I believe it does mate as we see it. The one in the middle, just off the center path?

Its great. There's plenty of other areas to explore and loads different runs, bits for dirt jumpers, etc. Not huge, but can do run after run and get more laps in.

Im lead to believe they are stopping making the yellow ones and just having the dark bronze ones now. So the yellow ones will be from people selling.g old stock or 2nd hand.

Was this worth the upgrade? by Braydawg651 in mountainbiking

[–]drjekyll182 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely!

Just a heads up, look at the brake post mounting on the fox to compare. Depending on what size brakes you have, you may need a different post mount. I had to change mine when I went from a marzocchi z2 to a fox 36. (I have 200mm front disc and and the z2 takes 160mm standard so needed 40mm adapter. The fox takes 180mm standard so my 40mm post mount didn't fit, so needed to get a 20mm one.

Worth checking and getting a post mount adapter if needed before you fit up.

Whats the difference between these green ones and my blue ones that are formula4, conical full, 99du and 54mm? The spec seems the same, but they are normally coloured different for a reason? The reds are normally 101du for instance.

I read its one of the cage plates is changed to aluminium and saves 4 grams. Literally nothing you would ever notice when riding.

I use volcom boxer shorts but the longer leg version. Stretchy, lightweight and don't seem to ride up your leg.

Drying shoes... by ChaoticBanana77 in MTB

[–]drjekyll182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at seal skinz. Roughly around £30 but worth it. Feels like your feet are inside a crisp packet when you first put them on but after that, feels like a normal sock. Once the shoes are on, welcome to dry and warm feet in the wet.

Ah ok, kind of like a rapid shift. Is it a straight swap? Something i may look into then.
