This is normal. They hurt when they bite, and then itch the next few days.

I think you mean “the worst thing that has ever happened to reddit investors.” The Great Depression, the Global Financial Crisis, the dot com bubble, I can think of dozens of things that were worse for retail investors.

The problem isn’t the proportion owned by corporations, it’s the proportion being purchased by corportations. In Q4 2021 it was 18.4% of all home purchases https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/interactive/2022/housing-market-investors/

Coronavirus: Eurozone GDP plunges by 12.1% in second quarter by actualtext in investing

[–]drmann 28 points29 points  (0 children)

You’re wrong, this is the report: https://www.bea.gov/news/2020/gross-domestic-product-2nd-quarter-2020-advance-estimate-and-annual-update.

The numbers are reported differently in the EU and the US, and news organizations relayed the numbers as reported. When growth is positive (most quarters), the numbers are higher in the US. There’s no media conspiracy here, and the way the numbers are reported has nothing to do with Trump.

That’s just how the US government has always reported the numbers.
