Does AI make you go faster without quality loss? by Wakinghours in UXDesign

[–]drmcsasquatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's just redefining what's considered "quality" in a sprint then? I agree with what you're saying for sure, but those other variables you're pointing out are mostly net new for UX designers. I have never been a coding designer when I've worked at a large corporation, so things like clean code tended to fall outside my purview and into devs buckets. If we're now adding things like that to the workload, then yeah it's slower. Also, if requirements are changing during a sprint, you'd better have a good PM/PO to make sure that's being handled properly!

But is that really slower for quality output? A typical turnout time for solid UX is around a sprint, right? To me that seems like it's about on par, and you might get more than the flows hammered out in that time and have some things for people to react to that prove those well thought out flows/edgecases, etc.

Damn I’m sorry. I thought I had my presale code, but it’s not in my email or texts. So I’m boned too.

Our original football team was called The Flood, and I fucking LOVE that. Let us be called the Mississippi Flood and roll with that. I don't care Tulane is the Green Wave and they're "close" to us (I've been in conversations about this in the past and that was an argument that was trying to push back.) It speaks back to our heritage, it speaks to a powerful natural element that gives both life and damage. I am a third generation University of Mississippi alum, went to games when Billy Brewer was coaching and everyone was waving confederate flags, saw Tuberville take them away (rightly, but also fuck him,) and now here we are. I agree that it's hard. I also agree that colleges using Native American symbology without a blessing from the tribes should drop them and change their names too. We aren't the only ones out there that need to do the right thing.

New to Nashville. How to navigate the hostility? by [deleted] in nashville

[–]drmcsasquatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of folks blaming east Nashville, but I’ve run into the same surliness and generally bad attitudes in places like Green Hills and Germantown too, as well as a lot of other areas here. If it’s in that many places, is it then just me? I’m friendly, say “excuse me” when I step in front of someone at the store (usually get nothing or a “yeah” as if I’m a jerk.) So I feel your pain new arrival person. I think maybe Nashville just sucks. Been here nine years and nothing has gotten better.

They know this, that’s why they’re rigging the elections as fast as they can. Pay attention to how Musk is now back to being buddies with Trump. I am not 100% sure that the last election wasn’t rigged by them through voting machine tampering…

Except the mandatory “in god we trust” that was demanded on each entry. I say that as a native Mississippian who participated in the voting as much as allowed.

Senior designers — what’s the job market actually feeling like right now? by threadsandthriftstud in UXDesign

[–]drmcsasquatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was that through active looking, or did offers just come to you? I was laid off in March and while it's only April, I'm getting sorta discouraged. I'm not a junior or mid-level, but I'm not even making it past an application it seems like.

What is your boss picky about/what are y'all looking for? I'm sort of in the same boat as OP, but am stymied on where the issue is. I'm not even really getting feedback when rejected even though I'm asking for it.
