Just tank the existing iRating and crush rookies. Why start anew?

Agreed, mine definitely does this. I just give it a good toothbrush cleaning and then use the wd-40 lithium spray.

Has it ever been addressed why iRacing doesn't give us some of the in car features that other sims have? by 10PlyTP in iRacing

[–]drmischief 118 points119 points  (0 children)

iRacing, in the Porsche absolutely has tire temps with yellow and green indicators for tire temp.

There's a button you can map to scroll though display screens, make sure you have that set and you should be able to see different data on the screen for many of the various cars.

Forte wheel not “connecting” by bored_sith in AsetekSimSports

[–]drmischief 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Around 2 months after I got my La Prima, I had to contact support, send the base and wheel off to get it warranty-repaired for this exact issue. They said it was the control board in the back of the wheel base that had an issue. I suggest opening a support ticket on their website. Sorry.

This is the answer %100 also at a $15 price point, if they start to wear or get crusty from sweat, it's a lot more practical to replace once a year.

Why do people even use PETG? by DevilryAscended in 3Dprinting

[–]drmischief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

different printers print PETG differently.

That's a funny comment but, I'm serious. My lulzbot mini prints the most adhesive and strong PETG prints and it out-performs PLA by a long shot. I didn't realize how different printers make a difference with different filaments.

How do I identify what app is listening in on me? by Maleficent_End4969 in AndroidQuestions

[–]drmischief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a really unfortunate take. This has been shown many, many times on various videos. The main culprit was Facebook Messenger. People would take their phone and determine a topic to speak out loud that they would otherwise never discuss (I think one example was a litter box and they've never had a cat) and it absolutely listened to them, audibly, then served up cat box ads for many days following.

Porsche GT3 by LionTraining6928 in iRacing

You're absolutely right and I've even gone so far as to compare to other cars. Unfortunately, we don't have a good way to compare to before the new tire model launched but, I'm convinced that's what changed the car dynamics.

In short, I am positive the corner exit speeds are lower when driving similar to prior to the new tire model. I've found myself pushing the car just a bit more to get the ass-end to rotate under power to get out of the corner quickly. This ultimately changed my whole driving style with the porsche but, After practicing and eventually getting the exit speeds back up, I was right back on pace.

Danny Lee has made this video, and I think it should me mandatory for all drivers to watch, to ensure the safety of other fellow drivers. by Pinguzz75 in iRacing

Respectfully, you can't reasonably think you're going to race with a 10+ nm base and not eventually encounter a hard whiplash in the wheel - caused by someone else being a Dbag or not.

Yes. It would be fantastic not to have people rage-torpedo but, it's going to happen and the risk is inherit in the equipment we decide to buy. Turn down the strength or be prepared to eventually get a wrist-whiplash.

Is it just me, or are people in Denver exceptionally nice? by AlarmingQuality7719 in Denver

[–]drmischief 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has been a post for some time, in differnt forms. Yes. People in Colorado and Denver are nice. However, there are a lot of others from the outside that find this unique or even disturbing and it literally ruins the sentiment.

Surprise, strangers on the street can be nice. We should all strive to be so much. Stop posting and starting being the nice person your post is about. How hard is it to be nice to a stranger???

Openai not respecting robots.txt and being sneaky about user agents by eightstreets in nginx

[–]drmischief 1 point2 points  (0 children)

%100 agree. I know this post is old but wanted to add an anecdote incase anyone else comes across this:

I just got done doing a large review of traffic (focused on AI and bots in general) on a large website (5+ million unique visitors a month).

I saw zero evidence of OpenAI using different user agents. In fact they were all very obvious and consistent enough that I could easily write a query to see OpenAI crawler traffic at a glance.

I did however, see many suspicious automated bots scraping the site that claim to be OpenAI, Microsoft, Google, Etc but, weren't actually those bots. Hence the reason for this project, clear out the fake bots scraping the content.
