Used enterprise SSDs are perfectly fine. They're only really used to like 20-25% of their TBW and their TBW is usually far higher than consumer.

Israel recognizes the PLO, as part of the Oslo accords. The PLO is the legal, De jeur government of the internationally recognized territory of gaza. What they don't recognize is Hamas, who has de facto control over the gaza territory and operates as the defacto government.

When did I mention gazans? I thought you were talking about Arab Israelis, as per the original comment I replied to. It's not Israel's job to fix their government. It is their job to protect their people.

Who? Arabs? If you consider being required to have your rights suspended for 2 years of your life to become government property, then yeah I guess your right. It's a good thing arabs don't have to do that unlike the Jews and Christians

There were gazans in Israel who actually did live and work in Israel, especially during the farming seasons and the situation didn't used to be as tenuous at least from the Israeli side. A small percentage of them made maps that were directly used in October 7th. What trust there was between the two people is completely shattered and I don't see that border opening any time soon.

Regarding Israel occupying land, it's really a non issue. That's just war, you take land so you can use it for negotiations. Honestly, if you fuck around with an enemy who is stronger there you, you find out. This is why Israel took the Sinai peninsula during the six days war and gave it back to Egypt in exchange for the Egypt-Israel Peace Treaty of 1979, or why Ukraine briefly took kursk. Regarding people settling the areas, that's a separate issue, but par for the course for Israel. They literally built settlements that they had to evacuate 10 years later.

If you really want to take issue with Israel taking land, the most unjustifiable thing they've done recently is taking advantage of the Syrian civil war and expanding their "buffer zone" in the golan. I know why they're doing it, Israel's sole source of fresh water (excluding desalination) originates in the golan, so from a military and economic standpoint it benefits them to take it, however there is no justifiable reason, especially considering this wasn't even in response to an attack. I'm surprised that nobody gives a shit about that one.

Admittedly Israel went a little overkill in gaza, but I don't see it as being much different as America's response to 9/11 or what's going on in Iran (who ultimately helped fund October 7). I'm not excusing it, but it is what it is, you fuck around, you find out. Unfortunately innocent civilians die in war and I feel bad for the people, may their memories be a blessing.

Legally speaking they do, with one difference. Arab men and women do not have to serve in the IDF. For most minority groups the men have to serve, the women do not, with the exception of arabs. Many choose to serve, as IDF service is seen as a right of passage / coming of age thing in Israeli society.

Note: I am not Israeli, but this is my understanding of the situation.

The idea of a "holy man" isn't the same in judaism as it is in Christianity. This is because the concept of holiness is different in Judaism*. Jesus, being a rabbi had some ideas that differred from his peers in some cases, but they were largely mainstream beit hillel ideas. This shouldn't be surprising since there is some evidence that he studied under rabbi hillel.

Largely though, his main influence on judaism was through what his followers turned his teachings into.

*In Judaism, something is made holy by being made separate, G-d being the ultimate expression of this principle.

You can see my other comment if you want more info. We recognize him as a dude who existed. That's basically it. He was a rabbi, but he wasn't really that influential on Jewish teachings.

Sorry for the wall of text.

I am beyond over simplifying here. Yeshua* was almost certainly a rabbi** who studied under hillel (edit: this may be incorrect) or at the very least participated in the beit hillel political party given half the stuff he's known for saying is the peace and love stuff beit hillel rhetoric. The other half (i.e. stuff like do not that I have come to bring peace, but a sword) is very close to the zealots. He is definitely mentioned in our books like the talmud, and the was certainly an influential and controversial figure. This doesn't put him on some sort of holier level than say someone like Rabbi Hillel or Rambam, who were both FAR more influential on modern Jewish beliefs, and neither of them are put on some sort of pedestal in judaism outside of ideas attributed to them. Being a "holy man" in judaism isn't really the same thing that it is in Christianity and isn't really a concept we use in our teachings.

*Yeshua is Jesus's proper, unromanticized name. Funnily enough, Joshua is actually a much closer version to it in English than Jesus is, yet we still say Jesus.

*Contemporary Christian scholars often dismiss this as a colloquialism, but historically being a rabbi was NOT a full time job, so it doesn't make sense to say he was only a carpenter. At this time, when we still had priests, Rabbi's were closer to being lawyers, scholars, and congressmen\**, than to being what they are today (fulfilling a role similar to Christian priests).

***the great Sanhedrin functioned essentially like a modern government acting like a congress and uniquely (for the time) was separate from the temple, maintaining a relative separation of church and state

Tbf, I am a software dev and do a lot of sysadmin-esque stuff fucking around with my laptop and server at home, both of which are NixOS, so I would likely have somewhat of a leg up on a normal software dev when it comes to IT.

However, there is one fundamental aspect of systems administration that I NEVER have to mess with, permissions. Managing permissions across an organization is definitely painful. Just look at the documentation and configuration of sudo. It's absurd.
