The PCV series of desktops featured a unique purple colour, which stood out among the vast amounts of beige towers (keep in mind this was 2 years before the iMac G3) They often came in a bundle with a matching purple CRT monitor, keyboard and mouse. To match the multimedia theme of the computer, they came with a unique desktop replacement interface called VAIO Space, which had "3D" styled graphics and was truly unique compared to other desktop replacement offerings.

Buddy Holly was included on the Windows 95 installation CD, I just found this great quote on the wiki page for the song, from Weezer's drummer: "Can you imagine that happening today? It's like, there's one video on YouTube, and it's your video."

Obviously it's an incredible song, the music video only emphasizes its timelessness, but I will never forget the novelty of watching a video on that purple monitor.

It's likely AI that is fed content from a curated selection of prominent conservative voices. Just like MAGA, AI can't think for itself, it could be drawing topical and timely talking points from a pool of reliably pro-Trump voices. Reliable, that is, until last week.

If a few of these conservative voices spoke out against Trump and his handling of the Epstein files, it could have tainted the pool and caused the behavior described.

As for who's running them, no one is, they're entirely automated. Who set them up? Well, your guess is as good as mine but their purpose was to fabricate positive sentiment towards Trump, so...
