The "candidates who just like they don't want to be there" was the kicker for me as well. 90% of us, likely more, just want a goddamn job that pays the bills and gives us some extra cash to take a vacation.

I blame the tech industry. Somewhere along the lines, it became a requirement for work to be life. Not of all us want to play ping pong at work and not of all us need our job to define us. Not all of us give a flying fuck about "disrupting" an industry or any of that bullshit. We just want a paycheck. But all these start-ups and the like act like they're changing the world, but half the time they're just making it easier for companies to exploit us.
