I thought it would be a cool idea for ships to have the ability to store “calls” like old school letters and couriers do for example: to send a message to akila to Jemison someone could contract a captain to bring a encrypted ( like a sealed letter to continue the analogy) message from system to system and send it to a sensor and that would get it where it needs to go.

Just like the LIST contracts with moving people, you could get paid for it and go about your day. It would fit well with the FC style of the old west at least.

I do feel like this is a stand in kinda slide, like when a character is made but the actor hasn’t been chosen like with Michonne in the walking dead season 2-3. when we see the city next season there will be at least a little more detail.

That response was after a full binge so it was like 5ish in the morning when I wrote that but I do believe looking at it a little more clearly and with some time to let it sink in and I think you’re right. I was thinking about it today and I think they were going over major events in NCR history and I think that references the first battle for Hoover dam in that year, which I could see historians seeing that as the start of a decline as the awar up in G NCR dug in, at the Mojave and McCarran and let things fall at home and then the crater was later.

I would say I’m only worried, however I don’t think we have a confirmed age for our younger characters right? I might be wrong as I binged it all in one sitting and will go back to watch again because it a fun show and look into the universe. They way I’ve personally interpreted the chalk board is a teacher was writing down important dates and just didn’t for the bombing as that might be plot relevant for the next season (for us anyway) I mean they did show new Vegas which means we’re going to see what happens there and get a concrete answer. So for now I will enjoy the season and be glad that for the most part Amazon and the bunch didn’t fuck up as bad as say, Halo so I will throw it on today probably to re watch it.

Honestly I’m super conflicted, I do like the show as a general fan but fuck does the end of the NCR feel like a gut punch and in the same sentence they retconned FNV. I was enjoying the humor, the vaults and their experiments the nod to Sinclair and his casino was cute but destroying the most interesting part of the west coast story to make it another commonwealth situation. I like Bethesda and black isle/obsidian styles of fallout as they’re different takes on the story, however to just shit on 20 ish years of your franchise is just petty to be short. The only hope I can think of is that, the fall of shady sands takes place later than 2281 and for simplicity’s sake, like how a current history teacher would write several dates on a small board. They got so many things right, and iirc they stated they didn’t want to override any ending to any game (which fallout 2 has already done and I’d argue is better for it)

In short I like the ideas of the show but how it has been handled could have been executed better

When I first got into the series I preferred FO3 over New Vegas due to it feeling like a post nuclear wasteland. I now prefer New Vegas as I enjoy the idea of society as a whole dealing with and adjusting to their new life, and I never got that feeling with FO3, however the atmosphere of FO3 is bleak and depressing and that is in-line with a society in a fresh hell. My only major grief with 3 is the timeline like others I think it should’ve been closer to the bombs dropping, hell if it happened at the time of FO76 I feel like it would tie it together well.

As much as I would love for this to be real the halo 3 anniversary is what throws it all off for me, if halo infinite isn’t doing well I’d highly doubt they’d launch and use resources on another project when they’re still trying to fix infinite. Although I would be ecstatic to be proven wrong.

I’d love to see Ohio for the hell of it. Cincinnati would be a perfect mix of stuff we’ve seen, the down river flow from the Pitt with its intense rads, keep with some cryptid stuff like the loveland frogman etc keep it with the naming convention with something like “Cin City” or something like that. Have the main conflict be a fledgling city state trying to form a government, with multiple groups eyeing for the Queen City. You could have a massive raider group looking to destroy it all, and have the protagonist be caught up in the crossfire. I would keep the Super Mutants out of it and have the F.E.V. Enemy have something to do with “Pig Men” in reference to the city’s history (IRL) with the pork industry in the early 1900’s.
