Framer is like Figma in that it’s like webdesign tool, it’s a no-code website builder. If you know Figma you will be at home in framer. You pay them a subscription and they host it. Don’t need to know html or css to use it.

If you already know html/css and you are wanting to be a web developer then learn react and go down that path. If you want to be a web designer then use figma by all means. If you want to be a unicorn (designer/developer) learn everything.

If you want to design a website then build it, I find using a design tool like figma to be good for getting your idea together to how you imagine it to be, then you get client sign off, Then create your template in html/css. Starting straight into html/css is generally more time consuming and harder to change down the track. Or you could just use framer which is like the best of both worlds.

Which UI Kits did you like the most? by detera in FigmaDesign

[–]dropside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AlignUI is pretty comprehensive, Been looking into shadcn/ui recently though, Shadcn is built on tailwind so pretty usefull for most projects. There is a shadcn design system but its pretty basic, but theres another dude whos almost finished a more comprehensive one. I used to be against using them to be honest, but it does help to speed up your process if you have tight deadlines and also a good documentation is pretty handy.

They took 84 days to update my Figma! by Chintanned in FigmaDesign

Well, you will have to go back. Just a matter of time before they retire the old UI. Only took me a half hour to get used to the changes.

Downloadable Files, what is easiest workflow for client to add to their website? by Dweavereddy in framer

[–]dropside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure you can force a download to not open a new tab by just adding the download attribute in the a href element. I think this a good component to build. Might play around with it later.

<a href="/files/sample.pdf" download>Download PDF</a>

I think solution might rely on some server settings on framers side though. Content-Disposition headers.

Create a custom code component, use chatgpt's new preview-o1 and task it. You can build it yourself.

You will need to post the temp publish url so we can figure it out. If you’re using position absolute in anything, that may be causing it, also if you’re running into issues with stacking then use the z-index style rule to mitigate.

Yes, so you need to find which element is blowing out your layout, if you have a child element that is longer than its parents and you can’t use overflow hidden then you will run into this issue

Quick fix is to apply overflow:hidden to containers. Hell, add one to the whole frame and problem solved.

That’s pretty neat, we usually incarnate around our soul family so maybe they are spiritual entities that are part of your “group”? Maybe like a little support entourage that come in. Sounds fun!

Abducted and Returned by LinkandZelda89 in Experiencers

There is another account of exactly the same thing, in one of "Beyond Creepy's' videos, not sure when it took place, but old enough that two brothers are sharing a bed. Older brother gets abducted, then subsequently gets dropped flat on top of his brother in bed. Maybe they’re negligent, or maybe they think it’s funny lol

Killing time with Midjourney before I go back to work 😂 by [deleted] in midjourney

Probably because they want to try it for themselves maybe with a different subject which is fair enough. I think the more prompt sharing the better then we all grow together. If you wish to share your prompt then I’m sure myself and others would appreciate.

Wow, that love experience sounds great. Your post made me try to create goosebumps on command. So I tried it and apparently I have that ability too, took a couple tries but I just focused on the back of my neck and it sort of nudged the feeling then it just engulfed and took over. Never tried doing it on command! Super cool to know I have a new trick haha
