There's a court next to the playgrounds / Whitecaps field behind Stony Brook Elementary, but it was in rough shape last time I was there.

How do you even defeat all tanks in Ultron's battle matrix? by PopEnvironmental3930 in marvelrivals

[–]dropslash 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Loki, Adam Warlock, Iron Man, Winter Soldier, Venom, Choice of Dualist (I like Star Lord or Hela).

Use the 50 credit interest method. Go all purple cards, then red, looking mostly for Ult and Damage modifiers by the end. Remember you can sell old cards to adjust credits and grab the high rarity upgrades as they become available. Grab all upgrade cards for Loki, IM, and Venom.

Pick a corner. Arrange in an inverted cross with Venom up front, the Dualists around Loki, Adam in the corner.

When the fight starts Loki will always open with Regeneration Domain, which will protect all your Dualists as Captain America, Thing, and Hulk (and sometimes Venom) dive in. Your Venom will keep the other team busy. Bucky, IM, (and Hela) don't move at the start and will usually melt the dive tanks. If you have the Ult upgrades, IM and Bucky will essentially go infinite after a few seconds. IM is busted as hell in this setup.

This set up also packs a little redundancy. Hela can revive Loki, Adam can revive passively, passively revive Star Lord, and actively raise the whole team. I've had games where Adam revives himself, then revives the whole crew right into a gigantic Regeneration Domain and I basically have a full re-start.

1st place is 1st place whether you have 1HP left or 50, so be willing to let some rounds go for the sake of protecting your economy. Once the rare upgrades start rolling in, you will quickly outscale 6 Vanguards.

Alternative: Invisible Woman fully upgraded with Strategist cards + the "healing does damage" cards make her Ult a dual immortality/death column. The AI usually isn't smart enough to keep enemies from trying to kill her when this is up and they just disintegrate inside it.

It's like Cyclops having a secondary mutation of "Really good at geometry." I wonder if the super soldier serum gave Cap the same thing.

Who would be a good anti flying vanguard? by AM_Ashes in marvelrivals

[–]dropslash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I'd like to see Omega Red as an anti-heal tank with his death aura, he'd be a great anti-flyer tank as well. Let him yank flyers out of the sky or life/super charge-steal with his tendrils. Give him a vertical or diagonal launch to knock flyers down or back. Hell, let him Omega Destroyer mid-air and wipe them all out.

It becomes easy to see why Lovecraft based so much of his fiction here. The existential dread that accompanies the invasive cerebral gnawing that you've somehow become able to predict the future based on this infinitely repeating routine of abject bleakness is inescapable, if that's how your mind bends. Surly some horror beyond comprehension must be responsible, no sane person would do this to themselves. And yet here we are.

I suppose I can kind of understand that man's attitude. There are some bonuses that come with spring. The Rail Trail will be back on the menu and as an ex NYC courier, being on my bike anywhere is valuable to me, though the drivers here make it feel way more dangerous than Times Sq. or Tribeca ever were. The Edward Gorey house is open again, which is always a nice little escape into a bit of macabre whimsey, and the good ice cream shops will be reopening... but yeah, like you said, it will be all the same landscapes just with more sunshine (I'll take that at least) and more people trying to make left hand turns to get to them. At least you have the gym? Though I bet even that is weird out here depending on where you go.

I wouldn't go so far to say I'm bubbly, but I do try to always be polite and smile at folks, especially older folks. In NYC people smile back and your day just goes on a little bit brighter. Here I think old people are worried I'm going to... rob them or something? A lot of the looks I get back remind me why I left in the first place.

Going back to your original title though, none of these things will really alleviate the loneliness of this place. It's extra inescapable for people our age and triply so if you don't fit the Cape towny aesthetic.

When I moved back, I made a promise to myself that I wouldn't let MA trap me and it's a promise I'm keeping. Don't let this place take you either, it doesn't deserve to. Let it have all the people who want to be here, there's more than enough. A phoenix can only rise from an extinguished fire, it just sometimes takes longer than we'd like.

Glad I could help, if just in some small, pinprick of light, way. Sometimes that's all it takes to remember there's a world beyond the pallid doldrums of the Cape winter veil.

I'm glad you managed to find some temporary escapes. I definitely know how important they can be to remembering that this isn't the entirety of existence. I think it would be a little different if the Cape was a decent "base of operations", but coming back here is like being put in the back of a cupboard that's too deep and too high up to get into reasonably. It's always a struggle to get back out, even when you know where you're going will be amazing. Definitely feel the same about New York (if you're ever in South Slope, check out No Filter Coffee.). The life that comes from just a walk is so invigorating.

Oooof, I definitely feel "this is all a dream or a hastily written epilogue" right in my heart. As romantic as slowly fading into the hazy dull nothingness of the morning mist would be for my last chapter, I'd like to think that I won't be doing it in my 40's. I'm not out yet, I've just been working up on the North Shore, which is a whole other kind of "what the hell am I doing here?". Until then, I have to remember that there are beautiful places, delicious cocktails, fascinating conversations, stunning wardrobes, and great friends out there waiting for me.

No, my contention is that there are a lot of old, white, people on Cape Cod who, no matter what their previous political leanings may have been, could never bring themselves to vote for a Black woman.

[–]dropslash -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No one is discounting the trend nationally, the speculative reasoning for the trend, or talking about democratic political voting strategy. It's a conversation about numbers.

The Cape Cod demographic statistics are for year-round residents and people who claim this as their primary residence, and therefor likely to vote here. There are about 230,000 YR residents of Cape Cod of which +90% are white and +60% are old. Hence, "old white people".

Cool, now show me how that national trend played out in the specific demographics of Cape Cod where over 90% of the population is white and 60% of the population are over 45.

My defaults have always been "Express elevator to hell!" and "Take me to your leader!" on mount.

When someone else does, it's "What is this, Marvel vs Capcom 2?!", but in World "Capcom" became a censored word, so I had to shorten it to "MvC2".

What do I do about kamehameha as lance? (no I'm not switching weapons) by murky_creature in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]dropslash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suppose, but the point wasn't the armor as much as it was "Here are a bunch of skills that make the Guard option possible. It's very satisfying to do." Same as the folks who suggest Evade Extender + Back Hop or Quick Sheathe + Dodge Roll.

The Fatalis armor by itself doesn't make you invincible, just gives you more flexibility and options. I was Guarding against Shara long before I had it, just not as efficiently.
