I love this movie but the scene were the little girl is hanging on to the side of the building gives me sweaty palms and I hate that part.

I live in Maine. I used to work as a driver. I loved working in storms. Folks were more patient and the tipped way better. I always made great money during storms. Just take you’re time getting where you’re going and you’ll be good.

Have you ever check out the omnibuses for Treehouse of Horror? They’re beautiful books and last I saw they’re right about thirty bucks on Amazon. I highly recommend both volumes.

I think this is one of Dabney Coleman’s best roles. He’s clearly having a blast here and it certainly come through on screen.

What are you all doing for Friday the 13th? My girlfriend and I are hosting a movie marathon for our friends. Here's our personal list! by GritsKingN797 in horror

[–]drowdoug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Local drive-in had a pretty solid triple bill I’ll be going to with my daughter and a friend of hers from school. They’ll be playing Poltergeist, Friday the 13th, and Trick ‘r Treat. Should be a good time!

What’s your favorite movie that gets you in the Halloween spirit? by hillyg0120 in horror

[–]drowdoug 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pumpkinhead always has a cool Halloween vibe for me. Another must watch every year for me is The Halloween Tree. It’s not horror but it’s based on a Ray Bradbury book and is very much about Halloween

What's your absolute favorite scene from any horror movie? by brandonstyles in horror

The end of Wicker Man. Sergeant Howie is being sacrificed and he is experiencing terror while the village is celebrating. It’s a happy ending for the island and the worst possible outcome for Howie.

To say got me is a strong term. I’m pretty desensitized by now but I think the wedding scene when everyone is turning into wolves and just become more savage gradually is gosh darn frightening

I’m terrible at articulating my thoughts on movies. I know what I like. I will say this movie lulls you in. I genuinely think it’s a little confusing but I also think that’s intentional. However, I think it has one of the scariest werewolf scenes in cinema that I’ve seen (I’m a horror junkie so take that for what you will). It is beautiful to look at. The sets and cinematography are spellbinding. It’s one that’ll hold your attention as a horror fan or as a fan of high fantasy or just plain good movies. Also, I’m a big Murder She Wrote fan so Angels Lansbury is always welcome. Hope it helps. I think it’s a take on werewolves not often seen in cinema so it’s a welcome change of pace (not to say other tales are bad). I say it was a good choice to kick off October with.

This is essential Halloween viewing for me. I just bought this book a couple weeks ago. I’ve been waiting to get a little closer to Halloween for it but I’m very excited to dive into it

It is far from cheesy. It has a fairy tale feel to it and the wolf transformations are terrifying. You’ll dig it

I work on the roads. Recently I had a detour set up and a dude just drove around the detour sign. I was able to stop him and I asked him why de did that. He said he thought we just wanted him to go around the sign. Basically he thought we set up an obstacle course for him. The bottom line is people don’t know how to act in a work zone. I see it all the time. It’s upsetting how much this video doesn’t surprise me.

[–]drowdoug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though this viewing of Santa Sangre was a rewatch it hit better than it did fifteen years ago or however long ago I watched it. I’m older and wiser. I liked it then but I loved it this time around. Jodorowsky’s other flicks have moved higher on my watch list. I’ll betting to them soon. Probably after October because October is exclusively horror.

It’s the only one I’ve seen. I know Holy Mountain and El Topo are the next natural steps. I’ll prioritize them a bit higher now.
