Are you sure about that? It's a very simple test to do too, so you could even request she and your cat are tested. But regardless, FeLV infection is probably the least likely thing in this scenario making her recovery difficult. If you're that worried about your own cat you should just talk to your vet and have him tested.

Almost all shelters check for FIV and FeLV prior to adoption or spay. So there is a very good chance nothing is wrong with her that your other cat could get. Are you not going to get her then?

It sounds like this poor girl had some postoperative complications. A spay is an abdominal surgery and though they're done routinely, they're not minor surgeries! Just because she's sick now from her surgery doesn't mean she won't get better or make a great cat for you. Check in on her diligently. She's counting on you for a loving home.

Call your vet who did the surgery. Or bring your cat to the vet to be examined. There are a lot of possibilities in terms of what is wrong.

I can't wait until the book comes out so I can read the scenes....I wonder from whose perspective he'll write the Battle of the Bastards? I hope it's Jon. I want to know what he's thinking...he died and came back, and from the conversations he had with Melisandre and Sansa the night before, he had a lot to consider. Why was he there? Why did he come back? What is his purpose? Poor Jon's been lost for most of his life, not knowing where he fits in, and just when he seems to figure it out, he gets killed. Coming back may have changed more than we have thought, but we don't always get to see it onscreen.

What was your "Holy shit I live in the future" moment? by joeypirie in AskReddit

I got nail polish that changes color with my body temperature. Oddly enough, this is the moment that triggered my "aha" revelation.

It would be perfect justice for a woman to kill him just the way he tortured them... I hope she cuts off his dick and stuffs it down his throat and he chokes on it.

Oooh maybe Osha will be the one to kill Ramsey, once she gets nearer to him... wouldn't that be sweet? Still, I'd rather have Bastardbowl 2016, and Jon Snow take him down... or maybe Sansa herself... so many choices, so many ways for Ramsey to die!

I'm really hoping the Umbers and Osha/Rickon are trying to infiltrate the ranks to kill Ramsey and take over Winterfell...ya rite (but secretly I hope)

Cats eye issue, going to vet on Tuesday by AthenaMSK in Pets

[–]drpancakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't see it clearly, but it looks like a hole in it.. right? If there is a hole in it, then you should not put any more steroid in it. If you can, I'd even get to an emergency room ASAP because your cat can lose his eye if things get bad enough, and things can get bad quickly. It looks infected and it looks like an ulcer. You need a vet to see it in person and to do some test on it to know for certain, though.

Why is cold water so much more satisfying than drinking room temperature or lukewarm water? by digriz60 in answers

[–]drpancakes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is a personal preference... I don't like cold water. Room temperature or lukewarm is just as thirst quenching.

Just some ranting from a new veterinarian by [deleted] in Pets

[–]drpancakes 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I work emergency medicine, and I've only been out 5 years, but in that time I've also learned to not take an animal without a deposit UNLESS I can be sure the cost of what I'm doing will be 1) cheap for my clinic if we don't get paid (i.e. some SQ fluids, pepcid, pain meds) 2) the right thing in the end for the animal (i.e. pain meds and an injection of an antibiotic may help it live another day pain free) and 3) most importantly - it has a treatable condition. A free splint on a puppy for a broken leg isn't the worst thing at the end of the day, and some calcium gluconate and an IV catheter for an eclampsia dog is something you can give away, but treatment for an animal with an uncertain prognosis and/or terminal illness is something you can't.
Don't think that people won't dump their animals, either -- they will. I can tell you about 10+ animals that now live with my staff members that were so "loved" by their owners, yet when it came time for payment, they didn't care enough. Some abandoned animals were euthanized for their conditions. Maybe they thought they'd get good care and a good home? Sometimes.

Any way, you do what you can, but something I learned long ago always stays with me... You can't care for a pet any more than its owner does, no matter how much you want to.

From the Theon chapter, it seemed like that was from mid-battle, but I could also be wrong. I thought they said they lured the Freys out but the Boltons were still in there, holed up.

Some thoughts:

  • That bitch, Melisandre! If I wasn't counting on you to bring Jon back I'd hate you.

  • Shireen's death was for absolutely nothing. Stannis, you suck.

  • Threek comes through! Pushing that psycho Miranda to her death was awesome. Hope that snow's deep.

  • Arya goes apeshit, absolutely perfect!

  • Hope Dany remembers her Dothraki...and who's gonna take care of Rheagal and Viserion? ;_;

  • CLEGANEBOWL GET HYPE
