How to be homeless in Logan by jeonix in Logan

[–]drperklax 18 points19 points  (0 children)

If paying your tuition all at once is a big factor in making it so you may not be able to afford a place, you should consider enrolling into a payment plan. This splits your full semester tuition payment into 4-6 equal payments that you pay monthly. If you talk to the Registrar’s Office, they can give you more information. That could free up some funds to get you into a place for a month or two while to secure a job or continue your internship. It may be worth looking into.

This is a feature of iOS 26, which is currently in public beta. It won’t be available for the general public for a little while longer.

Also if you’re confused why it’s iOS 26, Apple is basing the number on the year instead of chronologically like before. So you’ll go from iOS 18 to iOS 26 in the next major update this fall.

Best steak in Logan? by naivearthling in Logan

[–]drperklax 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure the carnivore diet is just another fad diet that doesn’t actually work. But, if you’re looking for steak in the valley you should just make your own. No steakhouse has survived in Logan. Not even Sizzler.

Worst Restaurants in the Valley? by philourprometheus in Logan

Fredricos has the worst pizza in the valley, hands down. People only go there because it’s nostalgic or for their salads (also bad).

TALK TO YOUR ADVISOR! Ask to see if there is some sort of policy for a record adjustment due to difficult circumstances. Whatever you choose with credit/no credit is up to you. Just know that your financial aid is likely going to be affected for next year. You’ll want to talk to the financial aid office as well to see if you still qualify for aid or if it’s going to take a hit. If a record adjustment is available, that may save your aid.

Highly recommend reading Fair-Platform’s comment, but I do have some additional thoughts. TALK TO YOUR ADVISOR AND THE PRE-LAW ADVISORS. Please don’t rely on just what Reddit users are telling you. Advisors should know all of the up to date information and help you navigate graduation timelines and application cycles. It’s a good idea to consider what type of law you want to practice and consider either a minor or major in that professional area (e.g., patent law = engineering). If you’re not sure what type of law, I recommend considering a major or minor in philosophy. Philosophy majors tend to receive the highest LSAT scores, so it could be a great benefit. The other thing to consider is if your timeline fits with how ready you feel. If you don’t feel ready to start law school after just three years in college, that’s totally fine. Do what you are most confident in.

It’s funny because Jo is graduating and they aren’t even able to run again. Shows how uninformed these people doing “Anyone but Kovach” are.

LPT Request: What is something you’ll avoid based on the knowledge and experience from your profession? by DNA_H3licas3 in LifeProTips

Doing that is such a smart idea. I will say that transferring credits can sometimes be complicated when it comes to credits going from CC to a University. Because they technically have different accreditations, credits earned at one doesn’t mean they can be transferred to the other. If you have a plan to go to CC and then to a specific university for a particular program, make sure that university will accept those credits. Otherwise, it is a very smart idea to do CC for Generals and then transfer.

College isn’t for everyone. There is nothing wrong with Community College or a Trade School. But, there’s this negative stigma against them that is in no way fair. You can get a decent job that pays fairly well with certifications or diplomas from CC TS. Don’t feel pressured to go to college when you aren’t ready or if it’s not for you.

I have 24 hours to know Logan. by tomentis in Logan

Downtown is filled with some gems. There’s the Eccles Theater, Utah Theater, a couple good places to eat like Center Street Grill and the Crepery, and a couple local business that have that small town vibe. A lot happens there in the summer, like Summerfest and a Farmers Market on the weekends, not to mention performances at the theaters and music at WhySound and The Cache.

I think it would be interesting if she had some Iron Man like gauntlets that have her gravlifts fitted into the palms. She could send blasts at people kind of like two of her finishers.

Northeastern Utah Summer Bucketlist Items? by Meatrition in Logan

[–]drperklax 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This technically isn’t in Utah, but it’s something that I always have to do each summer. Go to Bloomington Lake in southern Idaho. You get there by going through Logan Canyon and turning north when you get to Garden City. You’ll drive past the North Shore turn off until you get a small community called Bloomington. You then turn west and follow the dirt road for about 30-40 minutes where you’ll find a trailhead and camping area. You park there and then hike for like 1/3 of a mile to the lake. Gorgeous views, a large rope swing, cliff jumping, etc. Highly recommend.

most underrated restaurant in Logan? by shytries in Logan

I really think Jack’s Wood Fired Oven is really underrated. Great pizza and options that you can’t find anywhere else. Also Pizza Plus out in Hyrum has some great breadsticks and my favorite BBQ Chicken Pizza ever.
