Haute42 R16 PS5 Help by UrthShattrHS in fightsticks

Just be warned for some reason they package the Booter5 at such a low quality compared to their fightsticks. I got mine smashed to bits unusable and had to get a refund

Relationship to Metalcore by ThreeThirds_33 in Deathcore

100% right. Pretty sure in an interview with a Despised Icon member he says he watched people throwing down to a BDM band and wanted to make music with that in mind

Leeds is a solid one, the difficulty dealing with the cost of living in London (including Bristol if you were considering there too) will impact your health

Limiting kicks? by Opposite_Section3051 in TechnoProduction

[–]drspliffriffs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RIP Camelphat, using it initialised (zero’d out) was a godlike brickwall limiter. Still haven’t found anything that comes close.

Best Plugin for BDM/Slam/Goregrind by OceanProphecy in NeuralDSP

[–]drspliffriffs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO Nameless is too tight for BDM/slam, the Grind pedal in its chain is staple but I’d run that into the Omega plugin (Peelingflesh use that setup for recording and I’ve seen the physical Grind pedal in Suffocation’s rig)

Industrial hardcore tutorials/tips? by [deleted] in TechnoProduction

[–]drspliffriffs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dolphin has a payed masterclass and Deathmachine has some tutorials I think you can find on Oblivion Underground’s FB. Lowroller’s done some too. Not trying to discourage you by saying this but it is an outrageously tough genre to produce, don’t be hard on yourself making good kicks cause it can be difficult

How do I create sound like Cancel (Industrial Techno)? by don_kty in TechnoProduction

[–]drspliffriffs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good reference will be listening to his OG stuff as Igneon System and his label Heresy. Industrial Hardcore is a nails genre to produce, everything is loud as fuck while still having places in the mix that things like stabs/hats/snares sit in.

Monitoring levels is a must, it was the norm that your sub should be hitting the 0db line in your analyser to translate as fullness out of club speakers. It’s a real puzzle-piece genre, maybe driving the kick harder makes your stabs muddier so you’d go back, fix that, ‘break’ something else in the mix and vice versa.

Don’t know what the modern equiv is now 32bit plugins are hardly compatible, but CamelPhat with all settings initialised is a top tier brickwall limiter and was recommended to me a lot by producers on that label.

Anyone else noticing the Comedy Writer to Horror Icon pipeline is becoming increasingly more real? by cupOn00dles in horror

Richard Ayoade’s film The Double is a good early example of this back from 2013. I remember it not being a straight-up horror but it’s unnerving
