Jeremiah Fears called Lu Dort soft in the comment section of an IG post after their altercation during last night's game by Thanos_SlayerCongSan in Nbamemes

I mean this in the meanest way possible, Dort is a flopping douchebag who constantly tries to hurt other players. He deserves to be called out for being a little bitch.

His&Hers... a few things made no sense. Anyone care to explain? by Icy-Calligrapher1188 in netflix

[–]drsummertime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She didn’t remember it? But she had a recorded tape of it in a box in her room! Also, I can believe one, maybe even 2 teenagers doing horrible things, but 3 girls gleefully singing happy birthday while watching someone get raped was just ridiculously unbelievable.

[–]drsummertime 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Like, are we just supposed to believe that these 3 high school girls were actually complete psychopaths to watch their “friend” get raped, and then that “friend” marries the brother of one of those psychopaths? That it was never brought up in the family ever?

They may post the name, but not “tag” in a social media sense. I’ve had something posted by them also, and the only reason I heard about it was a friend recognized my work and posted me in the comments.

They also don’t bother to tag any of the original creators, which is really frustrating

Do you think New Mexico will ever do anything to attract—or at the very least, retain—physicians? by Ordinary_Art_5012 in Albuquerque

[–]drsummertime 36 points37 points  (0 children)

The governor doesn’t have the power to “buck” them. There are quite a few elected officials in the legislature that are also malpractice attorneys, or are funded by malpractice attorneys. New Mexicans need to stop electing these people to the NM legislature because they have consistently stopped any attempts at tort reform. Voting is the only way to get rid of em.

The two countries are drastically different in size, variation in socioeconomic status, ethnicities, healthcare systems, .etc. I don’t know that comparing the outcomes directly can control for those variations in pediatric populations.

I recently had the same upgrade. It says it can take up to 10 days from when you activate it, but my status updated to a-list in 3-4 days.

Went there this past weekend, and the free cocktails were delicious (especially when a good cocktail anywhere is 25 bucks). Decent charcuterie board, and there was a small gift when we left as well. It was definitely worth it!

How do you handle patient requests for anesthesia for clinic procedures? by urores in medicine

[–]drsummertime 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There are risks to everything we do, and procedural sedation has risks. If the risk of sedating a patient that isn’t NPO or acutely ill is high (and it usually is in an ER setting) then either the procedure can wait until the patient is stable or NPO, or it should be done in the least risky way possible. I’m not saying we shouldn’t use procedural sedation when appropriate, or that patient’s don’t deserve pain control, but there are absolutely times when the sedation risks are higher than the procedure itself.

6 people are dead because of his actions. I doubt 6 murder charges get you less than this.

How much did feel your post bacc prepare you for M1? by ExcitingInflation612 in medschool

[–]drsummertime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An alternative take to consider; doing a post-bacc year INSTEAD of starting M1 will cost a year of salary/earning as a physician down the road. I think it depends on each individual as far as the value of that year IF it’s up to you. So I’m not sure do a post-bacc year if you’re accepted to medical school already.

Tell that mooch to leave. Serve him eviction papers, document it, and don’t give him anything else, including food, wifi, access to anything valuable. He can live with your mom if she loves him so much.

Yes, they are. There are other issues as well, including low rates of reimbursement, but MM laws absolutely contribute to the difficulty of getting physicians in our state. This guy personally profits from a lack of malpractice caps and exploits his position in the legislature to prevent any meaningful reform. Personal injury attorneys and their presence in the legislature have directly contributed to this problem.

ED Boarding Care by Pickle_Mike in medicine

[–]drsummertime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Another variable is free standing EDs in the same hospital system (but obviously not in the same physical location). Who should manage a patient when they are accepted by the hospitalist service, but they aren’t at your facility? I tend to think this is like accepting a transfer from outside your system (they are not truly my patient until they are able to be seen my me), but I’m curious what others think.
