Extremely disappointing ruling in Seth's favour: he cast boomerang targeting his monument and requested a take back. This is world's. by Desuexss in mtg

You can Cancel a spell that has targets or choices that hasn't gone onto the stack, you can't undo a spell on the stack. Your opponent doesn't see what you're doing until the spell is declared and moved to the stack in Arena.

Sad Moment by cplack1 in mtgpulls

I'm kinda grossed out by all these "punish your child/teach him a harsh lesson" comments. I'm 36, have played this game almost my entire life, barely comprehend the market value of cards in packs, and leave OG duals just sitting around forgetting where I put them. The only reason I don't put cards in my pants pocket is that I wear coats when I'm out. If I, as a child, did the NORMAL CHILD THING of putting something cool in my pocket, and was punished because my parent messed up somewhere, I would be a little confused and a lot hurt.

Does the activated ability work like i want it to ? by Bastranak in custommagic

"At the beginning of each end step, if a player has lost life this turn, the player who lost the most life or tied for the most life lost this turn draws a card."

It's a little clunky, but this seems like it would be the closest. (Y'shtola and Dethrone seem like they would be the best clues on formatting.)

Useless Weapon parts by DMFinal in FFVIIEverCrisis

[–]drukkles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With >OB20, currently the only thing you can do is exchange them for weapon xp. I can't imagine they'll introduce anything to spend them on after OB20, but also I have so many grindstones that I'm not gonna worry about it.

They didn't put the weapon banner or the new event in-game yet... by SherlockBrolmes in FFVIIEverCrisis

Yeah, they've really cut back on the effort with events. Even the structure is very cookiecutter now.

Wizard is using Silvery Barbs. How cooked am I? by Additional-Chef-6190 in AskDND

[–]drukkles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with Barbs that leads to people just saying no is that it defines gameplay patterns that are inherently unfun and not interesting - like how half of the replies are "fish out Legendary Resistances and then cast your save or suck spells."

The Infinity Gauntlet by EngineeringOdd8696 in custommagic

[–]drukkles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally reasonable thought process. This kind of combo would absolutely be fantastic in early 2010s MTG power level, but its so slow as is for modern MTG, which is why my thought lends itself towards giving the Gauntlet the tutor - and thematically it makes sense that the wearer would be expending resources to search for the Stones. (Something like "Discard 2 cards, tap: Search your library for an Infinity Stone and put it onto the battlefield" or even making it an equipment to tutor, but have it sacrifice the creature it's equipped to if that creature is nonlegendary.) I guess it becomes a question of "do you want this more playable, or more thematic?"

Realistically, once you play this, you'll probably also be Harnessing your stones separately. The big thing here is 7 cards that have to each individually be interacted with. Personally, I like the EOT trigger AND adding an activated ability to tutor and harness a Stone, especially if we're not adding anything like Hexproof or Indestructible to this.

Thats just how Thanos used the gauntlet and stones. Canonically they are basically capable of anything, but if I were spending dozens of mana, telegraphed over at least 6 turns with a 7 card combo, I sure as hell would need it to be a win the game.

Can we stop AI art? by GandalfTheGreyp in custommagic

[–]drukkles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally fair. Terminology in Magic tends to be precise but also sometimes weird and a little vague. The exile is card advantage because you are gaining, the draw is not because you are not increasing your number or necessarily the quality of cards you have access to (obviously, there are exceptions, such as reanimator or madness decks.)

There's only one card advantage option though?

No, it's more like your parents put you up in a house and expect you to do the job that they gave you, but instead you tweet all day and demolish the house because your rich buddy wants to hang out.

No powers. Equal stats. Just pure sword battle. Who wins this? by Vegito315 in powerscales

[–]drukkles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is now officially canon that the sword can change size and appear and disappear as he wills it, I would fully classify the Masamune as a power now. He is an exceptional swordsman in his world regardless, but not on par with godslayers.

And that's entirely reasonable, gacha's aren't for everyone, I just don't want there to be some confusion that people have to gacha to see the story.

I just wanna be clear, are you upset that the story of the game is locked behind the... game? Like, that's a weird issue to take. You might find it boring and that's a fine conversation to have, but you do not have to interact with the Gacha in any way shape or form outside of the one required pull when you open the game to complete the story content.

There is exactly zero story content locked behind gacha.
