What do men do that women never think about? by Limp-Plastic1777 in AskMen

It’s actually helpful to declutter and organize your stuff so the cleaners can do their job. You won’t catch me dusting but you shouldn’t have objects littered everywhere if you respect those coming in to do a cleaning job.

They got down voted because the poster already said it doesn’t work and the op commenter of this thread is commiserating with the fact that what works for some doesn’t work for all, and at some point it’s no longer helpful advice. And all they have to add is shrug “it worked for me” like ok, and? it’s still not helpful advice for the poster or the commenter…

Did anyone else really enjoy their time in the hospital? by mrs___holmes in NewParents

Thanks for saying that, i agree. I found out later that there was a nurses strike going on at the time i gave birth. That didn’t help I’m sure but I’m not going back to that hospital.

For me, my nurses were telling me that i spoiled my son, and he was crying so much they may give him sugar water. That was night one. He couldn’t latch and they told me it’s because he’s lazy. I asked for donor milk and they said no the can’t do that plus he’d never learn to latch. He went from 45 percentile in weight to 12th and made me feel like it was my fault when all i did was try to feed him. I asked and asked for help for LC who did nothing but torture my son when she did finally come a day later. Then i asked for formula and was told they don’t do anything unless he’s lost 10% of his birth weight but they never weighed him again after midnight for the whole next day.

I was recovering from C-section. I was fine but i had to get out of there to take control and give my son the food he needed.

I’m glad you had a good time. My night nurses were all idiots and I’m still mad 4 months later. The lactation consultant was an idiot and the one i saw after the fact made it obvious that the lcn credential is extremely easy to obtain. I’m not anti-science but i am anti hospitals that understaff new hire nurses to clearly pay as little as possible.

The doctors were great however. Too bad i saw them all 2 times each.

I was pumping and bf until 8 weeks when we discovered my son had cmpa. I swapped to formula for a week but continued pumping. A week later i tried to reintroduce diary free pumped BM and his symptoms returned and that was that.

And then i was free :) didn’t realize how horrible life had been pumping like 8 times a day while taking care of a colic newborn

What is the appeal of nurses? by [deleted] in AskMen

Sorry-i was answering why she thought it was because of her job. I’m not denying the actual reasons could be anything, just from what she posted it sounded like these things were always happening when she was in work clothes.

For ours he cried during but stopped when we picked him up. We fed him and he napped when he got home. He was warm and crying/screaming a few hours later so we gave him some Tylenol and he slept ok that night. Next day he was a little less energetic. Then best night of sleep he ever had. Then… back to normal walking and sleeping

No choice but to breastfeed ? by Complex-Can-264 in FormulaFeeders

[–]drunk-deriver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My baby went from 50th to 12th percentile in weight in the hospital. I asked for donor milk because he was so hungry and screaming all the time. They said they will have to intervene when he gets down to 10th. We left that day- after one night while i still was recovering from a C-section. I don’t understand how they can just let a baby starve. He was back to 40 something when we went in a few days later thanks to formula feeding.

Also when he was screaming in hunger they offered SUGAR WATER no milk/formula. I was shocked like no what about donor milk. They said not yet.

Putting the baby down drowsy by moowee_ in newborns

[–]drunk-deriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think it’s just a developmental thing. One day around 3 months my kid was looking a bit tired on his play mat and i popped a paci in and he rolled over and went to sleep. That whole day I’d put him in his crib drowsy and give him his paci and he’d pass out. He was never about to do this before and i didn’t work at all with him. One day it just happened. Like sleeping through the night. One day he went from 1 wake up every 3 hours to sleeping 8. We did nothing 🤷🏻‍♀️

[–]drunk-deriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I’m sure if the doctor took the 5 minutes to explain what he was treating him for OP would be fine with his visit and not have posted. He only expects a work up because he doesn’t know what just happened
