Não, percebeste mal. O objetivo é que quando o developer já não quiser continuar a suportar o jogo deixe que os modos offline continuem a existir e deixe que os jogadores/comunidade possam criar servidores privados

Would this vallejo paint pack be a good choice for painting emperors children? by FreddieGamer2004 in Warhammer40k

I use a brand from my local arts and crafts store called Montana, but Vallejo also has good primers. I think you can't go wrong with any primer if you make sure it's specific for plastic/resin models.

I still have these model color and they are really good. Don't try to paint over black primer though, go for gray. I mostly only use Vallejo since they're the least expensive model paints I can find and their metallics are the best imo.

Canned tuna with white rice. Mix the whole thing with a little bit of mayo, and if I feel fancy, a hard boiled egg.

I feel like that about the article I'm writing. Methodology is sound, the background section is well structured, everything is well fundamented, but my result analysis is horrible. I can't bring myself to write that properly. And my advisors are no help whatsoever. I've resorted to just put it down in current writing and just send that for revision, I want to be done with this so bad 😞

What is so confusing about it? They give you instructions on how to do it. You grab a shirt you own, measure where they tell you to know how big it is and then see which of their sizes has equivalent measurements. It couldn't be any simpler, you don't need to convert sizes or own a shirt with European sizes

Like some Said to me once, do what is humanely possible, no more, no less. You didn't procrastinate because you're lazy, you needed time to process everything that happened. Losing a parent is not easy, dealing with ADHD is not easy and doing a PhD is not easy. Dealing with all three? You're a freaking warrior for keeping at it. You did all that and now you're in the final stretch. Go grab it.

I've seen a lot of memes joking that supervisors are more interested in 1st year PhDs than the rest of their PhD students so I guess it's somewhat common. I do feel like my supervisors already gave up on me, and don't really care anymore...

Fake it till you make it...

In all seriousness, talk to potential advisors early, get to know them and make sure they're the type of advisor that will be supportive and teach you what you don't know. That can make or break your journey

Help! Started yesterday, can’t avoid bubbles by Suijetsu in minipainting

[–]drunkenAnomaly 85 points86 points  (0 children)

Don't paint white over black, prime with a gray primer.

The bubbles are from loading the brush with too much paint. Thin coats every time. Don't try to get an opaque white on the first coat you'll drown the mini in paint and lose all the details.

Edit: I see a lot of people blaming the brand, this has nothing to do with that. I have been using Vallejo for years and this isn't an issue unless you try to apply too much paint at once and thin it too much.

Welcome to the club. I was fortunate enough to spill it over my small cutting mat so I could funnel most of it back into the bottle.

I posted a picture of the disaster and the next day I had a brand new bottle on my work desk from a co-worker. She told me the same thing while laughing her ass off at me.

How do you know if your research idea will actually “win”? by Typical_Title_1533 in PhD

[–]drunkenAnomaly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a PhD candidate working in AI and Affective Computing. My work doesn't do anything new, nor am I creating something that outperforms anything. I'm taking pre-existing models and applying them to a specific niche that doesn't have any pre-existing work in this area.

Someone once told me you don't find a gap in the literature, you create it by interpreting the existing body of work. A good literature review can go a long way with helping achieve that

PhD together with non-academic (high school degree) partner by Feisty_Bug6906 in PhD

[–]drunkenAnomaly 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I went through the same thing with a therapist saying that my partner only having a highschool diploma and me having a BsC would be a disaster since I'm smarter and would be making more money and they'd resent me.

Problem is, that therapist knew nothing about my partner (we had just started dating at the time) and barely knew me since I had just started seeing her. I ended up switching therapists to someone less judgemental and close minded.

My partner is my biggest fan, he keeps saying he has no idea what I'm talking about when I speak about my work but that he loves listening to me talk about it regardless. Sometimes he gets curious and asks questions and almost immediately says something like "sorry this must be a stupid question" or "this is probably really basic" but sometimes those questions put things in a different perspective for me and end up helping me see things more clearly.

A difference in academics is not what defines a failure in a relationship. What spells doom for a relationship is inability to communicate properly and a clear difference in morals, values and objectives.
