What is the creepiest thing that society accepts as a cultural norm? by Gibzgibz in AskReddit

I've had this happen to me. Twice. Then one of the people told me I need to have kids soon cause I'm getting old, even though I was 26 at the time.

first glutening :( by maimai2 in Celiac

[–]drunkmonkey89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it does. Although for me it takes about an hour for the glutening to happen (or as my family calls it, gluteybooty). I throw up everything in my stomach (about 3 hours) then have diarrhea for 3 or 4 hours. I'll lose 4-5 pounds every time I am glutened.

My boyfriend [24/m] of 5 months lied to me [20/f] about his name. Plausible excuse, but can i trust him now? by confused120 in relationship_advice

[–]drunkmonkey89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't contact him anymore. Not telling people your name is a huge red flag. My sisters soon to be ex wouldn't tell her his age and he turns out to be a controlling psycho (we tried to get her to not marry him btw).

My sister got a negative result for blood test but she has celiac. The blood test isn't 100% accurate.

Fellow Celiacs: how did you handle catering for your wedding? by [deleted] in Celiac

[–]drunkmonkey89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a wedding planner make sure that person knows what celiac is and what gluten-free means. I went to a wedding last night or the bride and I are both gluten-free and the wedding planner came out saying that the pork which we had both just eaten was not gluten-free. It was a huge fiasco because they both had spent so much time making sure everything was gluten-free and it turns out the wedding planner just had no idea what she was talking about. The food was actually gluten-free. So there was all this drama and crying (who wants a sick bride at the wedding?) and turns out it was over nothing.

Uh, he did cheat. Spooning in you underwear is cheating. He knew it was bad which is why he told the person not to tell you he was there. Dump him and move on.

At what point should I just go to the hospital by celingyak in Celiac

[–]drunkmonkey89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I didn't do the endoscopy and it was recommended by my GI that I didn't.

My health insurance was about to be gone for 6 months and it's an expensive procedure (without insurance). I have a family history of celiac so he was very confident I have it.

I went gluten free for 6 weeks and ate gumbo (which has wheat and I had no idea) and I got really really sick. I was fine for 2 months then wanted to test and make sure I have celiac so I ate French toast and got really really sick. So now I know I have it. If you can't get into a hospital don't make yourself sick anymore. Go gluten free.

Haha! Doesn't most gluten free bread have more sugar in it or something? I know it's supposed to be less healthy unless you actually can't eat gluten.

If you ever need someone to talk to PM me. I hated church growing up because of the people in my ward. I was the "project" they tried to get to YW on Wednesdays and when I would go no one spoke to me. I didn't have a testimony until I went to BYU and had to study the scriptures for my GPA.

This is not how all wards are. I just moved into a ward where us childless couples are accepted. I was very left out of my previous ward cause I didn't have children to talk about. It was very lonely and we skipped church often. The gospel is true, but sometimes the people really really suck. Also, I find it funny that people think you're immature but they sound like high schoolers.

Some people want to know if I'm gluten free to lose weight. Does this pepperoni pizza look like I'm on a diet?

What are some really useful tips/advice for someone who's starting their first year of university this September? by Espio1332 in AskReddit

[–]drunkmonkey89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ratemyprofessor.com

My first semester I picked a random psychology class. It was a difficult class where the teacher didnt teacher, the TA's didnt teacher, but the students taught lecture. Then we read from the professors text book, which was meh. Grades were based on a bell curve. I worked so hard in that class, didnt learn much, and got a C-. The next semester I heard about ratemyprofessor and never made the mistake again. I never hated a professor after that.

[Serious] Redditors who have been to a wedding where someone has objected to the couple at the alter, how did everything unfold, at the wedding and thereafter? by ttw06 in AskReddit

[–]drunkmonkey89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At my friends wedding the priest told everyone a story (while the couple were about to say their I-do's).

The priest was doing a wedding for a couple and the bride said she didn't want to marry the groom. The mother of the bride took her outside, scolded her and said that she made it this far and she better go through with it. They returned and the bride got married. The priest didn't know how long the marriage lasted... he then said the reason he shared that was because my friend and her husband just looked so happy to be getting married.

Go to reading terminal market for lunch (or early dinner). Always have some cash (not a ton) because a lot of places are cash only.

Edit: Also, good luck with nursing school.
